reminder that averaging 5 catches for 50 yds and a 0.75 TDs is a great year for any college TE that is not the focal point of an offense

I don't follow.

How can he average 5 catches when he's never had more than 4 in a single game and how can he average 50 yards when he's only surpassed 50 in a game once (51yds)?

He's averaging less than 2rec 20yds/game.

Just saying the bar isn't 10 catches and 100 yrds 2 TDs for a TE.

I think it's unfair to even judge any production from his freshman year negatively given he was a freshman behind an elite receiving option in Arroyo.

We all understand last season was a disappointment. Early in the season his production volume was decent, seems it tailed off as the year progressed rather than building. I don't recall his injury timeline last year, but Mario has stated the decline in production coincided with his injuries. If you look at the earlier games, he was in that 3 to 4 catch range but not really stretching the field and then later in th year not as many targets but more explosive and impactful. So that was my whole thing is posting his stats like look he isn't doing much isn't really fair when it's like 5 plays a game where most TEs get their stats.

If you take every game last season and add 1 catch for 15-20 yds every game and 3 more TDs he has strong TE numbers

While I agree, the people to blame are those that spent two off-seasons constantly promoting this guy as some sort of phenom.

Fletcher stayed healthy but needs to work on his vision and develop better understanding of blocking schemes vs defensive alignments; he leaves big runs on the table.

Lofton's injury-marred career mirrors Fletcher's first several seasons when he also struggled with injuries; lot's of promise but needs to have a healthy year.

Fletcher ran for over 10 tds and almost 1200 yards last year. Sit this one out. Don't ever compare Fletcher and Lofton again.

He was obviously talking about injuries derailing Fletcher early in his career, not last year when he was an upperclassman. This kid played hurt all of last year and blocked his tail off with those injuries.

Early in his career, I'd agree. But his vision improved last year and was excellent during the playoffs. I think changing our formation really helped him in that regard.
