It was only two months ago and I remember Downs being a dominant difference maker. And Smith being uncoverable. But I don't really remember Styles, Reese and Tate dominating the game like you'd expect given the hype during the combine. Am I mistaken on this? My memory of Tate is him short arming a ball when he saw the safety coming for him. I went and looked up his stats and the guy did nothing against us and Indiana.

Did Reese and Styles take over the game like Bain and Mesidor did. It's not an apples to apples comparison since Ohio State was weaker on the Oline but if you're a top 5 pick, I'd expect them to have dominated.

Nah. That's the thing with reese how they keep comparing him to micah. It's all based on hype and not results. He disappeared in their games that mattered. Styles got bullied some against us but he's the real deal. Wouldn't put him top 5 myself though. Ten I'm good with.

In Reese's last six games of the season (including one playoff game), he had zero sacks. He only had 1 tackle vs Indiana in Big 10 championship game, and he had 7 tackles vs us. Dude was non-existent since 11/1.

For some reason late in season they stopped rushing him alot so his numbers did drop but he also didnt really have any pass rush moves and just made most plays early in season by overwhelming the opponents with sheer talent.. The measureables are eye popping but skills need work.

Downs was a big difference maker on OSU.

He was the main reason we didn't bust big gain on the ground, without him that's an easy win.

In his last six games (including playoffs), Reese had a total of 15 tackles (6 solo), 1 TFL. This dude is Chop Robinson

Didn’t all-world LB Styles get trucked? And how does OSU lose a game with so many 1st rounders - top DE, LB, WR, DB . . . not to mention generational WR?

If you play defense, you will probably get trucked at some point.. Happens to the best of us.. Plus uber talented teams lose if they run into a team razor thin close in talent and ready (whether its game plan/motivated/not distracted/etc.)

Because OL matters, which is insane when you consider how much the mouth-breathers around here gave our staff **** for how they built this program.

As far as this thread, Styles is insane and well deserving of a Top 10 pick. Freak athlete, hyper productive player, he will be a force in the league.

Reese...meh. He's good, obviously. But I think taking him as high as he's being projected is very risky. Whereas I think Styles has a very high floor/uber high ceiling...Reese to me is more boom or bust. Much lower floor, IMO.

Downs is a 10+ year perennial All-Pro. If he falls to 10, someone's getting a HEIST.

The one who I'll stick my **** on the line with is Tate....he's a bust. JAG. I'm not saying out of the league in 3 years or anything, but I see him going in the Top 10. He will not pay off the capital. Undersized, not great speed. Y'all can have all the 190lb receivers running 4.5 you want. Not on my team at #6 or wherever.

Prominent memories of Styles, Reese and Tate:

Styles-gets run over by Fletcher and gets fooled on the TD pass to Fletcher (though it was a really good play call and design)
Tate-short arming a ball over the middle and being smacked by Thomas
Reese-who????. I guess its better to go unnoticed than being noticed like Styles and Tate

Their DT Mcdonald too might get in 1st round styles and downs are no brainers Tate a day 2 pick imo

If Jeremiah wasnt there, he wouldnt produce as his peers before him. Egbuka helped raised his stock as the #3 the year prior with eyes on him and smith and TE Stovar. Year before that was with marvin harrison egbuka & njigba-smith along with Innis as a freshman from IMG.
