Just saw a brief 2 minute video on Facebook with Lamar Jackson talking about his recruitment. He mentioned he wanted to go to UF but UF thought he was too small and would have to redshirt.
His final top per him were: Louisville, UF, Miami, Nebraska and Miss. St.
LJ said he liked Miami but they started recruiting him too late and that Louisville’s offense was a better gateway to the NFL than Miss St. which had Dak returning for his senior year.

I know it’s Paradise time but I was surprised to hear this being that I don’t recall him being brought up. Bobby Petrino was the perfect fit for this guy hate to admit it.

Man i would have loved to see Jackson at Miami!!! But im a Raven fan because of Lewis and Reed. He's there now i havent watched much Raven ball since those 2 left i cant wait to see him ball out!

**** that’s crazy. I wasn’t following recruiting back then but I remember that one goal line juke that he had which was insanely smooth and was swag af

If I recall didn't Golden and Co want him as a WR?

With those bums in charge he probably ends up as a fat 5 tech or something...

Listen .... Coley was and is a clown OC.

But he def had an eye for QB talent. He also was the one who spotted Malik, and as much as I rag on him, he's turned out to be a pretty good find.

I think w a diff HC, he would've been on Lamar earlier.

Yeah, this isn't one of the misses I won't put on the former staff. Jackson turned out great, but I think it was completely valid to not see him as a Miami QB. We weren't looking for dual threat guys, and that in itself isn't wrong. Obviously a guy who can run ads a dimension, but you want a QB first and runner second. If Jackson had been that out of HS he'd have ended up at a better program than Louisville.

Coley was a clown. Great recruiter, horrific OC. Jackson would have been wasted here under Golden. And tbh, he probably wouldn't have fit under Richt, because he improvised too much, which CMR hates. Going to UL with Petrino was amazingly good luck for him.

He would of extended Golden's career by a couple years. And richt would probably be broadcasting right now or retired.

Who in their right mind would ever sign for Al Gorlden anyway?

That fvckin bum set the program back a decade.

All for the good....

if we had gotten a couple of scrape through wins that year, we would have never gotten rid of Goldy and Dorito...

Some blessings have to be seen from far to be recognized ...

We wouldn't have known what to do with him. Stop it.

We would've had that kid under center, taking 7 step drops with dual reads.

The staff in place at the time wasn't appealing!!

TRUE.

And even worse for him they probably would have used up all his eligibility trying to convert him into a WR ...OR Bulked him up in an effort to make him a RB.

If Golden had used him as a QB he would have tried his best to change what made him a great CFB QB by making him stationary

Simple Fact is: Lamar Jackson went to the best possible place for his QB career. Good for him

LOL...so UF tryin' Bridgewater & Jackson for WRs got Muschump & McElbrainless fired, and UM treating Him as an afterthought got Folden fired.
