As uninspiring as our regular non-conference scheduling is, I’m pretty sure none of us want to see the quality of non-conference game we would come up with for mid-January. Beyond that a full week of rest gives us our best chance to pull an upset Saturday with only 7 players.
The week off is due to the ACC having 15 teams for basketball. With an odd number of teams, one team will always have seven days off between games. This one is on the conference unless Miami finds a non-conference opponent to fill in the gap.
You make a valid point in the non-conference part of the schedule, where Miami had 15 days off. I understand a full week off for exams but 15 days seems to be much.
Also, I think the team is off for an entire week for Christmas.
