Sounds like a nightmare for a new head coach. Was Tom Olivadotti the DC during the Boston College game? Jimmy Johnson said the DC at the time left before the game was over after cleaning out his desk the day before.

No, Olivadotti left and Bill Trout took over. But, yes, he was gone at year end. We ended up having 4 DCs in 4 years, from our 1983 championship year to our 1984 debacle to the 1985 year that was pretty good until the bowl game, and then the 1986 undefeated year (again, up to the bowl game).
