I call bull****. Where exactly do you see these strippers?I have legitimately seen strippers and piles of blow at Canes tailgates. There are no rules.

The points/loyalty idea is pretty solid. Like, “hey I actually showed up to every game this year, can I get a discount on next year’s season ticket?”. That might encourage more people to show up to the snoozers. The profit motives are not lost on me. It’s a pricing strategy exercise, informed by math not opinion. I think you find a way to fill every premium seat, like any perishable good (plane tickets, hotel rooms, Christmas trees). It requires creativity, thinking outside the box—maybe you raffle them off to season ticket holders? Maybe there’s a loyalty program where you get points for showing up in the first quarter, earns you a free concession or prize. Whatever, it’s a suggestion to improve what is currently terrible optics and a lose/lose (no revenue for zero marginal cost seats despite plenty of demand.
Don't forget the fact that being in this town were playing second fiddle to everyone and everything because it's a transient town & the actual locals more than likely end up at Dade, fiu, fau, UCF, USF, fspoo, or ufag before they end up canes more often than not... Far too many factors go against us to ever see a consistent game day experience be memorable.Miami is nothing like other college towns across the country. Never has been and never will be. CFB is the only game in town at other college towns. I remember going to the iconic OB (may she RIP) in the 70’s and there would only be 10K +- fans in the stands. Big games would be close to sell outs but never any consistency. Even during our “glory” years in the OB, attendance fluctuated depending on our opponents.
Factor in the huge demographic change in SFL and there are even less football fans in the area. Not to mention the NFL, NBA, and the NHL. A Jerry’s World could be built down there and it might attract more people for the same reasons The Rock does - to be seen and get drunk.
1. People actually going to the games
2. Significantly better music. I’m sorry, but playing “oye morena, que buena estas” does not get our players, recruits, student body and more than half of our fan base hyped. And this is coming from someone who’s Cuban.
3. Light show / other entertainment during timeouts. Even during the FSU game last year, it felt like a morgue at times during the 3 minute breaks….which felt like they were happening one after another. Fans lose interest, energy is drained out of the stadium.
They will not end up in a 25,000 seat stadiumWas just on a tour of the bowels (of the stadium) on Friday. They are doing a lot of renovation work on the luxury stuff.
Canes will end up at the Melreece location, which will curse the team forever.
3rd in AP Poll.IIRC UCLA was ranked 3rd behind Tennessee and K-State.
Great! Common ground. Note to OP, loyalty program to drive fan behavior, increase program loyalty, and reward best customers. The points/loyalty idea is pretty solid. You just can’t do the whole “move people from the cheap seats into the good seats thing”. For one, it’s not an airplane. If you show up late for a flight, you don’t get on. If I show up late for a game and they moved someone into the seat that I paid for, I’d be ****ed. Secondly, it’s going to discourage people from actually paying for the premium seats. Why pay the extra money when you can just buy the cheapest seat possible and then sit on the sideline.
Joe Robbie saw the sports demographics changing in Miami. Along with the location being cheap land, giving Palm Beach and Broward fans easy access via the Turnpike ended up being a smart move. He knew he had as many fans in PB and Broward combined as he had in Dade.Same problem it’s had since it was built, horrible location.
Gotta hand out modelos or allow fans to enter in a special line or something.A new DJ would be a good start
Feel like the Cane walk should be a higher priority for fans but idk how to fix it. Tailgates are way more lit than most places
Knew that was coming…yes, I understand all that, was there for it all but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a terrible location. What is around it ? Other than highways and hood ? I’m trying to get a hotel for ND close by and nothing exists, that’s worth staying in. I get the tri county idea, fine. The OB was a **** show to get in and out, not arguing there. But at least develop around it and make it somewhat appealing.Joe Robbie saw the sports demographics changing in Miami. The Hurricane fans need to understand that applies to UM as well. The student body is too small to be a factor.
The Dolphins always courted the north of Dade fans. For a few years my company bought a table at the annual Dolphins breakfast at the Broward convention center.
I get you on that.Knew that was coming…yes, I understand all that, was there for it all but that doesn’t take away from the fact that it’s a terrible location. What is around it ?
