Officiating

This is a pretty constant theme and most on here would say you have to overcome the officials but i’m about sick of that ****. On an almost week in week out basis miami gets the hose on officiating. Today was no different and imo cost miami the game. Miami dominated the second half and still should have won but just giving other fans a place to vent about how it feels like ever week the officials are against us.
I thought it was pretty even. Miami made simple mistakes: holding x2 on 22, missed FG, missed block by 87…

They got PI calls in the 1st half and missed 2 pretty important ones on them that hurt us.

They didn’t call **** in the 2nd half and we were the beneficiary a few more times than them.. we got away with probably 3 or 4 vs 2 for them.

Overall, pretty even. Inconsistent as ****.

We played more sloppy and more deserving of penalties. They coached with a sack and we coached with a vag. Ultimately it was the difference. Attempting the FG on 4th and 1.5 from the 30 vs converting a 4th and 5 and scoring a 12 yard TD.

And we always seem to be in some sort of drama with special teams in important games. Good and bad. Today it was bad.

Not sure what miami should have even called for that we weren’t. Maybe hitting mendoza when he handed it off but outside of that they might as well have let their coach throw the flags

We can blame the refs to a degree, but we need to take responsibility for our dumb headed penalties that were obvious. Add to that, a mind boggling OC who lacks situational awareness in games - he needed to be upstairs all season long, but no.

All in all, we’re on track with the rebuild. I don’t know for a fact, but Cuban must have paid single handedly for all the JMU players, who were in Cignetti’s system way before his two years at Hoo. So it’s unfair to say he did it in two years.

I’m disappointed, but not devastated by this loss, as we have a foundation on which we can base future success, sooner rather than later.

Not the reason ",we" lost. Run the fooking ball. Could have won this game with zero passes. horribly frustrating. The season is a win... The game is a loss

Jakobe Thomas is fortunate to have stayed in the game.

I thought they had a "let em play" mentality that actually is beneficial to our style of play.

I had no issues with the officiating. There were no-calls all over the place.

Dude Thomas hit Mendoza under the chin with the crown of his helmet and Mendoza didn’t even have the ball. WTF are you looking at lol
That was not a helmet to helmet hit and whether he had the ball doesn’t matter since he was acting like a runner. Also that play didn’t decide points on the board. The way this game was called impacted the results of the game
