Miami officials would have to be stupid to think Al doesn't want that job.. Hope they are getting there feelers out for replacements

Hope Al's gone and we thrash psu in a few years with some old canes taunting

6 just repeated the Herald Blake James report.... Nothing new.

Because time is of the essence. EE's get in on Monday and NSD is 30 days away. We need a new HC yesterday and we can't even formally start that process until we get closure on Golden.

So you give the entire "process" a swift kick in the *** and force the result sooner. I still have a hard time believing PSU is going to take Onfrio so I have a horrible feeling Al isn't going to get the job. You need to force his hand and either get him to come back as soon as possible (understanding ahead of time that staff changes is a requisite) or quit RIGHT NOW and allow us to go get a Petrino/Butch/Chud/Schiano immediately.

The timing here is crucial. We can't just sit back and wait on PSU's timetable...we've got our own to worry about.

And like I said before...for a school that doesn't have unlimited funds like Texas, we need to get him to quit to save on the buyout.[/QUOTE]

I don't agree. I respect your point of view, however.

Sure, closure and a definitive word would be ideal. But as with any business transaction, you can only control so much, an push the pace so fast. Even if we took this action, and forced the issue with the "swift kick" it probably wouldn't have the effect you're assuming it would. With an offer pending, and $2 million at risk with his current, job, I think you're wrongly jumping to the conclusion he'd tell us to drop dead and leave if we fired his buddy.

He's not the smartest guy in the world, but he ain't stupid. The process is what it is, and things have to play out. You can't try to "goose" it, but it doesn't mean you'll actually get the desired result.

3-5 days either way isn't going to make one bit of difference on NSD-- if this were the week before? Absolutely. Formal or informal-- what's the difference. As lame as our AD seems, it would be hard to imagine they aren't in high-gear working the
