There are two coaches who pretty much guarantee Coastal domination at minimum in Butch and Petrino, and both guys would accept immediately.

we'll see how committed this program is to winning.

That's the thing......we'll know with this next hire. If it's Chud you guys are going to be severely disappointed, heard it here first.

Quit being conclusory. Why will we be disappointed?

Agree with this. I personally don't see Chud as a great hire. I don't think Butch is a realistic option. Petrino slightly more realistic than Butch. But I just don't see Chud as a hire that would excite recruits or the fan base. I don't know anything about his players hating him, but the hire just doesn't wow me.

I think that Al probably listens to what Penn State has to offer tomorrow, then gives Miami chance to match out of respect, but no inside information on such. Just my 2 cents.
I think he's pretty much gone. Rumors are swirling and he's said nothing. Recruits are wondering what's going on and silence.

IMO, I think Golden just soured on the job. A lot has happened from when he was hired that I wouldn't blame him for souring. At the same time, he brought a few things on himself. I just don't think he was a good fit for the Miami program. His whole philosophy just doesn't jive with Miami football. I do think he will be successful at PSU. He may not win a championship, but he will get them 10+ wins regularly. He knows the landscape and can recruit the North East with the best of them.

Sometimes coaches just aren't the right fit. I think its safe to say Golden wasn't the right fit for Miami, whether he stays or goes.

Might also feel he lost the team, once that happens there is no recovery

He clearly lost the team. They quit on him 2 out of the last 3 games at the first sign of adversity. The players know that our defense is a toilet, and the coaches have no answers to help them when they're getting raked all over the field and being made to look like **** players every week.

Neither Al Tin nor Duh' has been able to stem the tide when the **** starts flowing, and the players are the ones who are made to look like garbage. They're tired of it and beleaguered, and it's obvious to anyone who is paying attention.

Really guys, Butch, Petrino, Chud and whoever the **** is saying Mario is the best we can come up with ?

Kinda like you repeatedly saying Art Briles to UT? Lol...you just making **** up. But ****, who isn't?

first and for most, I am not an insider. I offer my opinions based off nothing more than reading the net and here, nothing more or less. Never proclaimed anything different.

Second, you know me long enough to know I always admit when I am wrong, and I am wrong much more than right. Brilies to UT, I thought that was going to happen in my opinion, as it made the most sense. It didn't. I was wrong on Brilies. I admit it. I think that makes me a better poster than worse, in that when I am wrong, I have no issue admitting it.

Third. Since when is an opinion fact? I said my opinion, so how am I making **** up. It is pretty widely reported that Golden hasn't met with PSU due to weather and meeting tomorrow. So I threw out there maybe he meets and comes back to the U and says this is what they offered, you match?

No how is that so far out there and making **** up? It's just my opinion of something that might happen.

Just busting your balls. And will do the same to anybody that thinks Golden may stay. You're just hanging on to false hope. I was doing the same earlier. We fear the unknown and are nervous about our above average incoming recruiting class.

But for anybody who truly thinks Golden isn't officially gone by Sunday, you're just telling yourself what you want to hear.

You guys are reading too much into it. He would not be contemplating leaving if it wasn't Penn State. It's his dream job.
Penn ST might be his last shot to coach at a bigtime program. In another year or 2 he will be completely exposed as a coach and will be in a similar situation to Coker and Randy where most top schools will realize if you fail at miami with this recruiting base you will fail everywhere else.If he's smart he goes and with all Penn ST is going through he will buy himself another 4-5 years with a huge salary which he will never come close to duplicating again as an assistant somewhere.

Not so fast my friend.

They better be on top of things and putting out feelers right away.

If we have no coach when the dead period ends we are ***ked.

I am sure coaches are calling into the U now.

LMAO, yeah, just like they were when we canned Randy right??

People VASTLY overestimate the attractiveness of this job. This is NOT an attractive job. It pays cr@p, the fan base sucks, and were going to be on NCAA probation.

Not sure why people havent learned after the last two "hiring processes" that we arent getting some big name coach. The guys calling here may be agents for the coach at NIU, Cristobal, and some NFL coordinators.

Think about this, there were College coordinators who pretty much laughed at us last time.

No, it is people like you that are so negative that VASTLY underrate the head coaching position at the University of Miami. It is a top 10 job in the country and any coach that is smart can see that. The football program sits in the greatest wealth of high school talent in the country. A coach that knows what they are doing can come to Miami and win multiple titles by harnessing this talent and cherry picking from around the country. Furthermore, if a coach is worried about a fanbase, then he probably sucks *** anyway.

Not only that, Miami has a unique quality in the bond between former players and the university. And Miami has a certain mystique about it. Miami is different than any other football program... The Alabamas, Michigans, Nebraskas, etc... of college football are great programs and can dominate at times but they are your old, stuffy traditional style programs. When Miami is dominant, they are badasses that strike fear into the opponents and scare the **** out of the traditional powers. No other program has that quality. Sure, Miami is down right now and the mystique lays dormant, but all it takes is the right coach to come along wake up the sleeping giant.

Finally, why the obsession with hiring a "big name" coach??? Why not be obsessed with hiring the best coach possible? I don't care if the coach comes from NIU or Arkansas State, the only thing that matters is if they are best coach for Miami.

That's all true but unfortunately the rest of the coaching fraternity doesn't agree with you, as evidenced by the previous 3 head coaching searches.

You don't know if the coaching fraternity did or not because none of us are privy to which coaches expressed interest or which coaches Miami spurned for whatever reason.

Randy Shannon and Golden were mistakes by Miami's respective athletic directors and speaks nothing to the attractiveness of the job as head coach of Miami.

source fights on twitter. I tell you, subscription sites are really about to loose much credibility after today. ****, even press journalists are using them as sources for incorrect stories. Today has been epic for sure.

If Strong goes to Texas, then watch out for Tom Jurich. That dude is the best AD in college sports. If UM wants Butch Davis, they better not sleep on him because Jurich will probably hire him 5 minutes after Strong leaves.

You have to be the most negative, pessimistic poster on this site

And also the most reasonable and logical; Lets face it: this program ain't what it used to be - we have frontrunning fans who don't go to our games, terrible facilities that are a joke, and ******* wannabees such as Luther Campbell and hanger-ons that no other major program has to deal with. How else was ******* Nevin Shapiro able to do the **** that he did? Our lead HC candidates in 2010 were Golden and ******* Randy Edsall!

Lets hope that we hit gold on this next hire, because if Donna ***** it up again, you can say sayonara to "The U."
