I could see them going after Chud even though I'd prefer Petrino. Petrino would be unstoppable with the talent down here. He'd ride his motorcycle through a wood chipper to get here too.

Golden isn't saying he's not interested for the simple reason that he's actively lobbying for the PUS job. Only thing holding it up is they haven't offered it to him yet.

They're probably too scared, but at the end of the day, he didn't do anything that most of them haven't done. All he did was bang a young chick. There's never been any ncaa issues under his watch. We'd have a fighting chance against fsu if we brought him in. As it stands now, that chasm is widening by the minute. FSU is about to close with Cook, Rudolph and Lane.

I also think Golden did not want the PSU job the last go round due to the hammer coming down from the NCAA. This time will be different. He is not the man following the legend. He would be the man following the man following the legend. Not to mention putting some distance between their scandal and taking the job.
I voted no in the poll. Truth be told I am indifferent if he stays or goes. Although, Golden and crew have some serious red flags through 3 years on the job. It has left me asking the question would he be able to win a National Title or ACC Title.

Great recruiter. Local ties. CANE Family. He and Coley can "tag team" the local recruiting scene. He will be what Shannon was SUPPOSED to be but never was. He talks real good BRO!! And he is CHEAP!!! The will get him for 1.2 TOPS, and with the extra money, he will pledge to bring in a TOP NOTCH DC and get the defense fixed.

Do you think Golden wins a National Title (Even ACC) if he keeps everything status quo on the staff?
Status quo? no. But he will make changes. He's not stupid. He will also look a lot better with better talent, just like "Botch Davis" went from having planes calling for him to be fired, to being a legend that everyone is praying somehow comes back now. Even if he lays an egg, as long as he locks up this class, he can leave NEXT year, and we will be in MUCh better shape. IF he locks up this class, he will leave TWO Elite 11 QBs on the roster, plus two TWO shelf RBs, and two good solid RBs for depth. He will leave UNREAL talent on the OL and DL. Whoever the next coach is, they will have a LOT to work with.
If this class falls apart, we are back to square one. Yearby and Kaaya are coming here because of James Coley. If he bolts, I think we lose them both. Valentine will definitely bolt. I think we also lose Jenkins and Hester, probably a few more guys. That would be CRUSHING loses to this class.
And you all keep laughing, but Ive been following this program for over 3 decades. Based on everything this school has done regarding coaches, I will tell you that it is TWICE as likely we end up with Mario Cristobal, than with someone like CHud and about 20 times less likely that we end up with Petrino or some other big name. Its not going to happen.

Your the second person to make that point. Im not talking about "people that matter" trying to run Golden out of town. Im talking to the unrealistic "fans" on here who live in a dream world. That's all this message board is, and that's who my posts are directed at. All these cats dreaming of Bobby Petrino and Butch Davis as DC LMAO, UM will offer about 2 Million TOPS for a mid level up and coming HC, and just as likely give someone like Cristobal 1.2 million and have him bring in a good DC. All Im saying is, be careful what you wish for. IMO keeping this current recruit class should be the MOST important thing for us right now, and that means keeping Golden at least 1 more year. Those hoping he leaves, just be ready for the consequences of what they hope for.
