He's gone. They hate him here..... somehow the admin held on to him all these years.. reminds us of the old Hecht gang
not like he went to the championship game his first year lmao. This is his fifth season and his third season he won the ACC & went to the sweet 16. LOL at acting like he was overdue for a firing.

Score a lot farther now but **** anytime I see Duke with 20+ more free throws then the opp I assume favoritism

I live here in the triangle and have many UNC diehard alumni friends. .. they can't stand him and want him gone... he has the Larry Coker vibe among fans..

Myself and most of Dukies I work with, of course, would love for him to stay...

Im referring to the merits of it irrespective of fans…people wanted Mario fired after the SMU game.

The UNC admin held onto him because he met the criteria for being a HC at UNC for the first four years despite the unevenness.

I find it silly to fire a guy after losing his best player but UNC has extremely high standards so I get it because back to back first round exits isn’t their brand & he missed the tournament year 2.

Given the smoke that this is his last year in golden state, i kinda expect UNC to reach out to Steve Kerr.

Pete Thamel says they would be going for world class names which should protect Jai from getting poached. No guarantee he gets fired but major changes are expected no matter what.

I’d guess Mark Few is another guy they target; Calipari too. Doubt they go after Scott Drew and doubt Dan Hurley leaves UConn. I could see Todd Golden bolting for this job tbh.

Given where his organization is now, i think the most mutual alignment would be Billy Donovan leaving the Bulls to go to UNC.

Texas advances to play the winner of No. 2 Purdue and No. 7 Miami in the Sweet 16.

Cal and Dusty May are probably the ones I'd go after if I were them. He won't be at the top of their list, but if they get turned down a couple times and you start hearing Sean Miller's name get thrown around, get nervous.

Yeah I could see Sean Miller as a last restore for them; that’d be a major L to their brand tho. I think they get some of the big fish to bite but Dusty May would be a **** good hire.

Coincidentally, Dusty May coached current UNC assistant Sean May in AAU. Michigan is probably being proactive in negotiating a raise and extension rn.

Whoever gets hired, or even if Hubert Davis manages to negotiate a make or break year for himself, I expect their assistant coaching + basketball operations staff to be much improved moving forward.
