I had the same thought. I don't necessarily like the idea of having Homer return kicks. Not only is it an injury risk, but it's a play that can really gas a returner. I'd rather have a 40 yard return and then have a fresh Homer come off the bench to stress the defense further, rather than have a nice return, but lose Homer for a few plays while he catches his breath. We have plenty of skilled return options.

That said, for the season opener on the road against a ranked SEC team, you make a good point about going with trusted vets. We can get some of the younger guys some experience against Savannah State, Toledo, and FIU.
 
Other names that aren’t listed that we will definitely see in the game is Pope, Blades, Frierson, and Gurvan.

According to the Depth Chart our Starting Right tackle Nuh-VONN (see pronunication guide) lost a foot in height. Listed at 5-5. lol

If the guards are the 2 worst players of the 22 starters, Miami will be 12-0 and will go toe-to-toe with Clemson in Charlotte.

These 2 kids are going to be a major upgrade from the guard play last year.

If you're concerned about the OL, you should be concerned about how Donaldson will hold up at a new position. To me, he's really the only question. I think the OL is going to really surprise people this year, especially if Donaldson really does take the next step.

But the guards last year sucked balls. These 2 kids will be better.

This is not a battle of who is the best of the worst. Both QB's can lead us next year. And it has been stated that coaches would be comfortable with either of them in the LSU game if Rosier goes down. This is an entirely different position then last year when we had no legit backup.

Not a good sign that Perry can't distance himself from Weldon. Weldon was essentially out for the entire spring with butt eye.

Things can still change for PErry, but if Williams has a big offseason, I see him starting in 2019.
 
Surprised Jones was able to hold onto his OL spot. Heard great things about the 1st team OL lately, hope they hold their own on Sunday
 
We're stacked. Starters are set & secured. If the OL holds up there's no reason we don't make a run at the Playoffs
