Miami coach Al Golden said Wednesday that after Saturday's loss, several players told him they were trying to make plays while chasing down Abdullah and Nebraska quarterback Tommy Armstrong.

Ultimately, that helped contribute to a near-career high performance for the running back, more than 450 yards of total offense and Nebraska putting together several methodical drives that chewed up plenty of clock and resulted in scores.

Just go away already....can you just eat yourself into a diabetic coma or something

"That was really the first time I believed on defense we had some guys do that," Golden said. "We just need to do our job, execute as a unit. The plays will come to us. Hopefully we'll learn from that and grow from that."

Another day....another opportunity to push this lame agenda. Either **** or get off the pot.

"We've got to get everybody just executing, everybody playing with poise, looking at everything from schematics to personnel, just as we do every other week,"

"It's important that we all improve, we all quality-control ourselves and we need a much better effort this week. . . . We just need to settle in and do our jobs. That's all. It's not bigger than that. That's one of many issues we need to address this week and that we have been addressing."

I finally agree with something he said....there needs to be quality control, the BOT needs to be held accountable for this disgusting display.

"Look, I don't know what you want me to say. There's no excuse for not tackling. There's no excuse for not doing better on third down. But we're not giving up in the scheme. We made a lot of progress so far this year. We didn't play well enough tonight, that's it, against a good team on the road. And we turned the ball over three times and we had a lot of selfish penalties, so we helped them."

I want you to say... Look, I'm in over my head, and I quit.

“Al’s a professional and he’s going through something right now, but he does a great job of being able to continue to get the message across to the team,” D’Onofrio said.

I didn't know excuse maker was a profession

D’Onofrio said. “At the end of the day, this is our job and there’s a lot of people that depend on us. We got off the plane and went right back to work [Sunday morning] and we’ve been working ever since to get ready for this game.”

Not if the city of Miami, the Univ of Miami BOT.....and a LEGION OF UNRULY FANS have anything to say about it

One Golden Cane (donations of at least $15,000 a year), who asked to remain anonymous “out of respect to Al Golden’s family,’’ said he told UM the balance he owes them for season tickets “would be paid upon a better product on the field.”

“Do something to correct the situation,” the booster said. “In the company I run, if my general manager doesn’t adapt and doesn’t go with a game plan that works, I’m going to fire him.

“I’d rather lose the money I’ve given so far then have to sit there and watch that defense and scheme he refuses to change. It breaks my heart because I bleed green and orange.”

preach brother preach....

The Canes have dropped from 15th nationally last week against the run to 65th.

the fastest one game free fall I have ever seen

“Again, there are no excuses. It starts and ends with me. We didn’t make them pay with tackles-for-loss. … We did not create more third-and-longs. … At the end of the day, we’ve got to do a better job — that’s everybody. That’s tackling, play-calling, personnel, whatever it is. We have to look at everything.’’

No excuses...then proceeds to cram 3 excuses down our throat

D'Onofrio said he doesn't think there's a big difference in UM's 3-4 vs. 4-3 attack in terms of results.

The U has won a ton 'ships in the 4-3...what have you won? That's the only stat we care about.

of course not...I agree with him. Dorito, thing is that the common denominator is you ...******* idiot! You are the reason we will suck with a 4-3, 3-4, 5-2. 10-1, **** this guy would fail with a 11-11 line up. What a ******* moron

lmao @ ****** Tim Reynolds parroting **** that astute UM fans have been saying for years about this team. He's the guy who tries his best to talk down to the passionate fans (without whom he wouldn't have a job) and now he steals their criticisms. **** that guy.

The play has to come to us because your stupid frigging defense sure as **** doesn't go to it!

Day 5

Big O stating No D is on Olivadotti level as worst DC in South fla history

Matt porter: http://wqam.com/2014/09/25/matt-porter-22/

Big O is full of it. No D is nowhere near Olivadotti. Tom, for his later failings, was DC for our first NC team, which by the way played against same Nebraska with a Heisman RB. Difference is, we hurt Rosier early and won the game with famous defensive play. Tom helped beat what was considered the greatest offensive team ever that use the same option then is uses now. No D will NEVER coach a game like that is his life.
