not sure he would have thought it thru that much but its an interesting thought nonetheless!
Is Miami the only team in his top 5 with a bye this weekend? If so, i think that would have to be a pretty good sign. SC has a noon game. Would be strange to commit to a school while they are playing a game.

Tennessee too but you know all of the schools who play Saturday especially South Carolina who plays a little after noon would want to know why he would do that and basically take attention away from the team. If he really thought he was going to one of the other 3 he would consider having his decision on a later day

He may not have thought it through, but Golden may have.

If he makes a decision date he did think it through because it takes some days to set up a location and he visited USCe, Oregon, Kentucky and UM before he made the date so telling me he didnt know each teams schedule for that date is hard to believe

Yep. And if he commits to South Carolina we can always make ourselves feel better with: "We didnt want a thoughtless recruit who takes attention away from the team"

If he did commit there it wouldn't make sense because he'll miss at least some of the game because you know those decision dates take time. Look back at NSD they take their time with everything so really his decision may be announced at 12:10 when USCe starts at 12:20. No coaching staff would want to let that happen because then it becomes unfair to the fans who should have all of their focus on the game

Why does it matter if a recruit commits during a team plays in a game?

He isn't signing a LOI, it is just a verbal commitment. The team isn't waiting or delaying kickoff for this kid.

Smh, why would a team want him to do it during a game when he can do it even a half hour earliar? If UM was playing at the same time let's say Dixon for example was announcing and set to choose UM don't you think the coaching staff would try to get him to do it before the game so the fans who are watching UM at home or at the stadium wont have any confusion?

lets be realistic...there cant be more than a couple of thousand canes fans that really follow day to day recruiting issues during the season. thats probably being generous.

Why are you shaking your head? What difference does it make if it is a half hour before the game or after, I assure you the team is focused on the game and not a COMMITMENT before the game.

Not many fans get that excited about a commitment about a kid that won't enroll for another 8-10 months either. Not every fan follows recruiting.

Going way back I think he has been a silent to us forever. He wanted to take visits so now he took them and now he's announcing. If he was seriously considering other schools why not wait until after the season and give them a hard look. Simple as that. All this other stuff is reaching. The only way he doesn't commit to us is that the staff gave him a short window and now is going in a different direction.

I can see what you're saying no doubt but I also think that coaches would see it a certain way too like if they had a choice they would rather it not on the day of a game but I could be wrong so my bad
