*** Official Beat Joe Green Thread ***

...and this is why I wanted to stay away from this series. I need a scoreless game the rest of the way.

I thought the under was pretty much money. Almost like 6.5 runs was too many. I guess there has to be some what of a bar for totals . . . Anyways, I was sure the under was easy money . . . which is why I went over. I wanted a gamble, and simply said if its too easy then it isnt likely to happen. Think about no run first inning folks last night. I mean that is a super wow. When they had one on Verlander I said it would be a miracle to have two, and then bam they jumped all over him. When it got to 5-1 I thought that might have been the final.

I am asking myself what do I think will happen tonight? Tonight I think San Frans pitcher is better. But they are +115. IDK?? Who knows. Surely Detroit is likely to be a bit shell shocked and try to make it a slug fest, but honestly . . . I have no feel for what will happen. I would be shocked with another 8-3 game, but just about anything in between wouldnt. 5-4 wouldnt and neither would 2-1.

Big card for me this weekend:

Ball St -6
Temple/Pitt U49
Colorado St -7
Texas -21
TT/KState O60.5
Toledo -7.5
Louisiana Tech -29.5
OU -10
Fresno -13

Games I'm looking at for my underdog contest this week. Thoughts?

Wake Forest +12.5 Clemson
Auburn +14 A&M
Kentucky +15.5 at Missouri
TCU +7.5 at Okie State
Tennessee +14 at So Carolina

Some might find it odd that I would even consider KY with how much I've dogged them, but the consideration isn't a commentary on how I feel about KY, but rather that I don't know that Missouri is any good at all and James Franklin is out I'm pretty sure. And they are saying it's possible that Patrick Towles could play at QB. Him at QB makes them much much better. Still HIGHLY unlikely I would take KY in that contest, but I've at least thought about it.

OSU could be down to their third string QB who used to my neighbor, Clint Chelf. Plus all their wr corps are depleted. If Lunt doens't play I think TCU is a great pick, but that line won't stay that high IMO.

It will because I only do it for a contest, and dude uses the USA Today lines that come out at the first of the week, so the lines do not move. That's the game I was probably leaning toward cause of what you said and TCU can score and is a well coached team. But I also took Iowa St last week in that contest and that didn't work out so hot.

Nothing on paper really says it, but have this gut feeling that Tenn could pull off the upset. I don't think nearly as highly of So Carolina as other people might. Particularly if Lattimore doesn't play or isn't effective (I have no idea of the status of his injury). When he's not playing or not getting the ball they just aren't all that on O. Like the KY game, they never gave it to him in the 1st half and KY got the better of them. 2nd half they pounded him and they demolished them. Need to know if he's playing. Just kind of a hunch that UT might do something crazy.

Texas Tech

Don't think I can go against K State at home against really anybody. They are a solid well coached team and I've come to be really impressed with them. Wouldn't shock me if Tech went in there and won, but don't think I can go there.

Tennesee has the worst defense in the SEC. I think that new Qb and Skye Dawson can outscore OSU if they have to go with their 3rd string QB. Unless Randle goes nuts.

I would be shocked. Unless KSUs secondary gets swine flu the night before klein can outscore TT if he has too.

Kentucky easily has the worst defense in the SEC. They really do. You almost can't even watch it really it's so bad.

But you are right that Tenn's D is putrid. And that's why they are such big dogs and could easily get smoked. For that contest though you get more points the bigger the dog so I'm always looking for a big score. Anytime you take a big dog the deck is stacked against them.

I've just seemed to notice that when Lattimore isn't playing or getting fed the ball South Carolina really doesn't do anything on offense. So, if he's hurt I think Tenn might have a shot.

Fair enough, but I like TCU alot more at 7.5 craft.

/// OSU 77 TCU - 35, former neighbor kid Chelf 11 TD passes
