*** Official Beat Joe Green Thread ***

Nice. I knew we had a collection of intelligent people in here. This is the best thread on the Internet. I'm an automation sales engineer by day, degenerate gambler by night.

Speaking of, I really like BYU tonight. Hawaii is absolutely awful. I'm locked in at -28 so not the best position to be in, but I still like it.

Watkins is worth 3 points, but a move from 10 to 7 is a bigger move than 3 points. Anytime you jump from key numbers in the single digits its a huge deal.

I'd worry a little bit about a backdoor in that one.

I'm with you on BYU.

Robbie, you have any data on teams that travel TO hawaii, and then travel again the next week- like Nevada is doing? Seems like that would be an awesome situational factor.

Nevada is in an interesting spot. Travel will be tough but I really think their the best team in the conference and have a chance to win finally. Plus UTSA has a major corch factor which is hard to account for :)

just researching now.

Last year, no teams that went to Hawaii had a road game the following week

That will be some rare data because that does not often happen. Nevada must have had a scheduling snafu in that regard.

some interesting findings:

In the last 5 years, only 2 teams have had a road game following a visit to Hawaii. Nevada and Navy (neutral site game vs. Army), record 1-1

17 times, teams played home games after going to Hawaii and those home teams covered 11 of 17 (65%). 8 times, the trip to Hawaii was the teams last game of the season. Interesting trend, home team covers 65% of the time after travelling to Hawaii

Are you talking about Franchione or Coker lol? If you mean Coker, you'll find him at New Mexico State this week.

confused the 2, but both are corches

Good research on the Hawaii stuff. It could be tedious and it could be a vacation/team building week. I guess it depends on how good Hawaii is.

Have a unit on BYU -16 for the first half and -28 for the game. I always love having a head start going into Saturdays...

Tell me something. You can take Hawaii and points and guarantee 2/3 with a TD opp to middle. Is that an auto play? Or do you risk 1/2 to go for 2 wins?
