*** Official Beat Joe Green Thread ***

I've been on a fair amount of sports betting sites, work in the gambling industry, and have bet for awhile so to attempt to make this thread better and more accurate here I go.

Pet Peeves of Sport Betting Threads:

1. Never post your picks after the game has started. Once the game starts don't bother posting.
2. If you post your record (optional) do it on good weeks and bad weeks and keep a running total. If you post games after start time (which you shouldn't do anyway) don't include them in you record
3. If you post unit records, post the amount of units you bet on each play. Otherwise don't ever post a +/- unit record because its bull****.

That said, I love when people post all their plays, I just hate when people claim more winning then they really have. Sports betting is hard as **** and should mostly be done for fun, although it can be done for a living (profitable as a non-pro) but its extremely difficult. Most people will lose in their sports betting careers.

If you win two bets and lose one, you are likely up a juice less than a unit. I am now 7-3 and am up 5 units minus a juice or two. I figure its just easier to say 5 units. My units are tiny, $25. So essentially I'm now up 117 which I'm calling 5 units. Do you consider that inflating stats?

I mean use your discretion. I know I'm being a hard *** on this stuff but in High School I worked at a Sports Betting outfit that sold picks to unsuspecting betters. I only gave lines out to bookies (who called in) mostly, this was around 1999 before this stuff was easily accessible online. Occasionally they used to ask me, a 17 year old, from time to time for picks which they sold to people. They also use to tout 65% records all the time which weren't true. I guess I'm jaded from that.

That's why I usually just keep a record, most bettors understand you are paying 10% juice on average. If you keep a unit record then you have to get into fractions. My pet peeve is when people post plays and then update their record (when they win) as 2,3,4,5 unit plays when they didn't indicate it when they posted.

I cannot win. I have never gone 10-0, it's almost impossible, yet I have found a way to go 0-10.

Lost 2 units this weekend. **** saint's game killed me, but glad to have only lost what i did. Lot of 2nd half hedging this weekend otherwise it woulda been far worse(although i did not post these bets) . Let's get it together and take it down next week.
