In hiring a coach, do you prefer an offensive or defensive minded tactician? I am a firm believer that defense wins championships, and in that regard would be giddy to hire narduzzi or butch. However, it seems like we could pull an Oregon-type mindset with our smaller, quicker players. Thoughts?

I prefer defensive minded, but I don't want one of those coaches who just goes to a ground and pound only offense. LSU is a perfect example. If they have had a respectable passing game, they would probably have a couple more titles. I don't want to look like LSU or Nebraska on offense, especially not with the type of players we pull in here.

It's cute how everyone tries to give our team a "philosophy".

As if there were ever one in place to begin with.

I'd say we did and still do. We had a fast aggressive defense before with a well balanced pro style offensive.

Now we have a bend but don't break (but really do) defense where we are scared to get beat by anything more than 5 yards nd I don't really know what our offensive philosophy is right now other than we like to throw it deep.

All we heard for 3 years was "Yards don't matter." Now all of a sudden it's all about yds per play.

These coaches have pulled the 3 card Monte on the whole shebang.
