Offensive spring battles articles by porter

I'd probably call Porter 2nd best in South Florida. All of them are just copying the web-recruiting sources during the off-season, so that's a wash. Barry Jackson has the best juicy details concerning the team proper, but Porter writes solid articles, and has a good ear for interesting nuggets during the ridiculously repetitive post-practice interviews.

South Florida reporters are awful. Nose up CMR ***, where is the questioning of the vanilla offense. A son who can’t develop talent of our QB.

So taking a baseball player with no other D-I scholarship offers who never watched film before, and turning him into a 10 game winner who starts the first ACCCG in Miami history, sets the record for most TD's by a UM QB in a single season, becomes the first QB to gain over 3600 yards since 1984, becomes the first QB to beat FSU, VaTech, and Notre Dame in the same season since 1987, and puts us in our first NY6 game since LSU kicked our asses in the 2005 Peach Bowl, does not count as development?

beyond excited to see Thomas taking it up a notch. I dont think we've had a collection of playmakers like this since 2001.

Thank you. Amazing that some posters can't recognize that we just had our best season in well over a decade. Sure there are concerns, but it's obvious to any rational observer that we are on our way up.

I caught the Dugans "promotion" to co-offensive coordinator from passing game coordinator. I guess the increase in salary to keep him around had to come with a title change too.

Who’s first?

Personally, I can’t stand Porter, but I’ve said it before, as far as content and effort, he’s the best of the lot. Not that he can’t improve. But I don’t think it’s close. He provides more content, it’s more thorough, more in depth, and he’s more knowledgeable than the other “traditional” reporters. I also know he scours these boards for info, but that’s another story. Granted, he’s being compared to not a dynamic local group.

I’ll say this, the combination of Stefan, Roman, DMoney, & Geo pretty much gets me most of what I need, supplemented by local media, mostly Porter.

Even though we had a fine season there were too many stretches of poor play sans Duke, VT and ND.

Bethune, Toledo, UNC, Cuse, UVA, Pitt, Clemson, Wisky, FSU, GT...we generally played like **** during some point in each of these games.

While I have been critical of Rosier, you have to give credit to the staff for getting so darn much out of him. I'm disappointed in Perry, but that happens. I don't think anyone expected him to be so far behind, developmental wise. Williams, we shall see.

Well that's obvious. He's not a Redshirt Senior. Everyone can improve except Redshirt Seniors.

What did he mean when he said Miami will spot the ball on kickoffs?

I guess there will be no runbacks and the ball will be spotted - probably at the 25. Although they might actually practice the kickoff and coverage and runback schemes, they won’t have any real blocking or tackling. Too much danger of someone getting hurt.
