I noticed we always seem to start slow in games offensively. Went back through the games last year and in our last 11 games, Miami has scored 3 points (vs Syracuse) on opening drives.

3 and out 5 times
1 1st down 2 times
1 INT
1 missed FG
1 turnover on downs
1 FG

Not the biggest Dennis Erikson fan,
but his gameplan usually was to come out firing.

No touchdowns on opening drives for close to an entire season. Not good when our defense is reliant on having a lead and pinning our ears back getting after the qb.

I'll say both and neither helps the other one out.
Marc isn't the best but plays have always been there even early in the game. Perfect example was the acrobat catch made by thomas...if you watch Vilma pick it apart you clearly see an accurate ball would've ended up making that a TD. It would've been 7-3 miami but you are right about the first drive of the game.
