Unfortunately he's just too slow.

I know Perkins is a reasonably quick QB, but he obliterated an angle on Quarterman in the 2nd half which just can't happen - he'd still be running if the S didn't come down to help.

Disagree. Not piling on, but since it’s being discussed he looked the worse I’ve ever seen him and he stuck out on film. He whiffed badly every time he blitzed, leaving a gaping hole for the RB or QB to run thru. You could see how embarrassed he was thru his face mask. He knows he is a liability right now.
