Offense Question: What Would You Rather Have - QB vs OL?

Hard to be #1 QB when you have 0.0001 seconds to throw.

Oline not only makes the QB better by giving him time to throw, they also open lanes for runningbacks, give time for WR's to get open, and you can use more TE as recievers instead of blockers.

You take a lot of pressure off your QB with a great oline. Great QB's have bad games too.

It all starts up front. Same with the defense.

In the real world, I’d take a top level QB with a mediocre line over a top level line with a mediocre QB. There are ways to scheme around a weak line. It’s much tougher to gameplan with a bad quarterback. Your only option is to attempt to run the ball into a loaded box over and over. Even the best lineman can only block one player at a time. Do you prefer Clemson’s offense or Wisconsin’s?
