Still am not sold on Blake Baker, however they are showing improvement with their tackling and only giving up few points the last 4 games with the turnover continuing to be consistent. It appears Manny is more involved and it's showing for sure which is encouraging as the vibe on defense the last 2 games has felt more like the last 3 seasons where we had confidence when out there not holding our breath like the first 7 games this year.
Dan Enos is a real concern for us. The stat we saw this weekend showing that we at the bottom of the barrel in 3rd down conversions and the worst in 3rd and distance averaging 8.8 yards to go is troublesome. He seems to be unphased by this as we are showing zero progress in this as the season progresses unlike our tackling on defense which had putrid but we are seeing an improvement from our players here stemming from their coaching and emphasis on it. Enos, especially for being paid with what he is needs to adapt to what we have and not shove a system down our throats where we just don't have the horses to be effective. To be fair, Enos shows flashes of greatness but consistency is something we've lacked under Coley, Richt and now Enos calling our plays with 3rd down being a weakness with all three of them.
Thought our OL looked much improved against FSU and even Pitt limiting their sacks which have plagued us all year in both games. As a QB Coach Enos has shown great progress as both Williams and Perry are improved at their position and it's obvious (Thanks Jon Richt). Would like to see Enos spread it out, use what we have and accept what we have and get off of his system that has worked in the past. It's no different from hearing Richt say "these plays have worked for the last 30 years".
