SIAP, found a podcast from insidetheu and they were saying how Miami offers used to matter and there’s no significance behind them anymore really because everyone gets one. I started thinking and it couldn’t be more true. When top recruits get a miami offer it doesn’t phase them at all anymore.

This I think can be seen as one of the many downfalls of Golden and his staff. They literally would just throw offers to any and everyone and hope that it would stick. Richt is actually going to take the time and consider whether the player is Miami caliber or not before throwing an offer out.

Richt will instill a culture where getting a scholly means something and it’s the first step in making sure the **** show that unfolded against wazzu today never happens again.

we’re on the way back!

I already mentioned this in another thread, but I had no idea Golden was just giving out offers like that. It gave no credibility to our offers. Just glad the comedy hour at our expense is over with

But I thought Golden didn't offer enough kids? This says he gave offers like it was nothing but on here we always *****(and rightfully so) about players not getting offers....

Oh sorry didn't see it. Came across this podcast last night

I always thought the wrong kids were getting offers.... remember how estatic the board was to get guys like Dennis Turner from AG football camp haha I was more happy the jit was from Dillard....

How do you let guys like Travis Rudolph kermit Whitfield deoin cain jayron kearse khairi clark Bostwick (who knows if he would've got in trouble if he went to school with armbrister) just walk away.

Then you wonder why no early offers to guys like eddie jackson, lamar jackson, q flowers, quincy wilson, skai or dowels...

Remember signing that nigel bethel lmfaooo.... Remember forcing Travis Johnson out. Remember dropping Dexter Williams and Cronkite for Scarlett. Remember Denver Kirkland? Alex Collins...McKenzie Alexander is the one hurt me the most like how u not offer his brother like both would've played sataurday!

The **** show recruiting we used to entertain. Then close to signing day the kids hit AG with the cha cha slide then dab all the way up to trailorhasee (kids still ain't amount to **** though Thomas and that one DT) jeezus Christ I'm a shame.

I thought AG tried that too. Richt will quickly learn how difficult it is to be picky about offers when Twitter starts blowing up because you offer a kid from ga, but not a kid from Fla. I always felt like Al tried to use the lower rates kids to seem like the class was filling up to try to forcekids to make a decision. Thats why he was always clamoring for the early signing period. Maybe I'm not remembering it right....

It's who he was offering. His offers were given to a bunch of 2 and low 3 star coal shufflers. The obvious offers he stayed away from. Why? B/c Golden wanted to bring a brand of Big 10 football to Miami.

So then kids don't use the Miami offer to parlay into the offer they want?
So Golden didn't fail to offer the kids, he failed to close on them and coach them up?

He failed to offer the right kids. Golden had no idea what a Miami kid looked like, what he played like, what he talked like. That was the big problem.

Offering Mackenro Alexander wouldn't have brought Mackenzie here, he wasn't coming regardless.
