Of Goldens 39 Games As Miami's HC, How Many

Now how many of those games were played with the leftovers of Randy Shannons garbage classes, and then how many of those were played with Miami unable to competently recruit with an NCAA scandal surrounding the program?

In all fairness to the NCAA. Our recruiting incompetence originates elsewhere.

Was the *** whooping we took against Louisville cloud-free enough for you, or is there some other reason that game doesn't count either?

I can't fathom what you were expecting heading into an insanely rough road environment, starting a true freshman QB in his first game, playing on national TV, against a team coming off a 12-1 season.

Maybe at least a closer game against a team with an entirely new coaching staff, a bunch of new players(including a QB making his first career start as well), AND missing their 2 best players on offense.

But I guess I'm crazy for expecting a team to look at least slightly improved from year 1 to year 4.

Not enough. And lulz at the cloud excuse.

Bill O'Brien had to deal with a hellacious cloud at PSU, and still did enough that, you know, his services were in demand in the NFL. Other coaches have had to deal with similar things, quite a few of them were still able to game-plan and prepare their team well. Make no mistake, if Golden was fired today, he'd be right back in the MAC, at best and he won't have 'the cloud' to blame for that.

no. yo don't get what the cloud means.

the cloud means the uncertainty of the sanctions. once PSU knew what they were facing, they were able to move forward. Miami on the other hand, was under investigation where everything was a possibility. granted, we knew Miami wasn't going to get it as bad as pedo state but still, nothing was definite.

Golden could be here 5 years from now against Louisville with a new qb again and we could have a senior laden roster and they would still be talking about their 12-1 season.

Interesting because our recruiting classes didnt seem to suffer. People keep talking about reaching for players, but reaching for players does not get you top 20 recruiting classes. Did the cloud have some effect, yes, but lets stop acting like the cloud prevented us from getting more talent than every other team in the coastal and most of the teams in the atlantic. This screams of poor player development. Duke, VT, UNC, and nearly every other team in the coastal would gladly trade rosters with us, but somehow they manage to do fine and we continue to struggle against weak *** competition.

They came out fired out and played decent against Florida. Don't care about 4-8 because at the time we flat out came to play.

Offense played for the 1st qtr then left the game. Of our 212 total yards for the game. 136 of those yards were from the 1st qtr. We had a grand total of - 8 yards in the 2nd qtr of that game. Up until 49 seconds left in the 3rd qtr we had - 4 yards. So for 29 mins of that game we had a total of -12 yards of offense.

UF gift wrapped that game to us. Very rare does a team win a game converting one 3rd down and doing nothing for almost 2 entire qtrs.

Pittsburgh 2013 -- USF 2013 -- I thought we played pretty well against FSU last year, the game just got away from us

My Favorite game from the Al Golden Era.

Watching those highlights again I gotta say a few things:

- Randy Shannon left Golden alot of depth and talent at the O-Line position. Our line was HUGE

- Mike James - What a underrated short yardage back

- In that game we had depth at LB. Not all of it might have been quality depth, but depth nonetheless

- **** Jed Fisch!

So giving up 500 yards vs FSU and Pitt is playing well? My have things changed at Miami.

Was VT 2012 the game where Eddie Johnson was trash talking with the VT sideline the entire game?
