Odds Lo goes into the Portal

Listen I really like DJ Dallas. He seems to be a true Cane. With that said the guy had 5 carries for 4 yards with less than 4 minutes to go in the game until he broke a long one that was honestly the result of poor tackling. I don't know if Lingard is good or not, but I think some of you guys must not be watching many other CFB teams with the way you talk about Dallas' performances. He's made plays for us, but he should be a jack of all trades for us and not a bona-fide number one starting back. And I am in no way trying to disparage the kid. Again, I like Dallas.

Other than one big run from Dallas, we weren't getting jack crap anyway.

Not defending Lo not playing. That is dumb. In regards to Murpheys carry he picked up a first down due to his second effort. **** sure was not because of any blocking. If every player on the team put forth the effort Murphey does Canes could be good.
 
Since every scholarship player on the roster, who doesn't graduate, is going to the portal, I say the odds are 100%.

We're sitting at 2-3 in part because our best QB wasn't playing until today and our best RB was injured. If we had even an average OL, this offense...WITH ALL THE BEST PLAYERS BEING USED PROPERLY...actually could be destroying opponents. It has been way way underperforming its true potential. Kosi threw for over 420 yards in about 3 quarters of play. Granted we were behind & had to throw but that shows what this offense could be doing. Lorenzo needs to get significant carries so we have an effective running game again. People see Deejay's key plays (and his heart) and they ignore the fact that his average YPC as RB1 is not great. Yes, Deejay has made some game-saving plays in key spots but Lorenzo is the more talented RB1. We need more pop at the RB position. Book it.

With all due respect, this is a silly. Let me get this straight. Your premise is that we are not winning because Lingard isn’t playing? You then go on the say “IF” we had an average OL and Lingard (among others) played we be destroying teams. Here are the facts.
1. If we had a average OL, we would be undefeated if Murphy were the featured back, let alone DJ and Cam would be average 80+ yards per game each.
2. Our OL play is a Major reason we have lost games not the use of any particular players.
3. Our Defense has been highly suspect and has lost a game (UNC) and possibly UF (mistackles).
3. Baxa is mentally shot has lost us games.

I believe Lingard could be the best back we have. It hasn’t been proven because he has been injured. Unfortunately, the reality of the situation due the above circumstances, using Lingard would not have made a bit of difference.

LoL. Who has been better. Cam can’t consistently find the right gap to run when it is there. Lingard has been injured and recently recovered. You are barking up the wrong tree. Playing DJ over Lingard at this point isn’t the problem.

If my post implied otherwise then that is definitely not what I intended. Make no mistake about it we have other glaring issues, starting first and foremost with the clueless coaching staff.

Let me explain something to you; WE NEED ALL THE TALENT WE CAN GET. Do you know how fcking bad it would look for a 5 star player filled w a team full of 3 stars to bounce from here? Not only do we need him next yr b/c I’m fairly certain DJ will probably leave this chit hole, but we need top rated guys to give our program some cache. We are in no position to say “he can leave, I wouldn’t care.” Yes tf u better care. U numbnuts who keep saying stupid chit like this still haven’t learned the domino effect or what optics is.

Bama can lose a 5 star player, and who cares? They’ll simply replace them or they’ll be labeled as couldn’t beat out other players. Same w UGA, Clemson, OSU, OU, and LSU to name a few.

We lose a 5 star player and it will have a ripple effect. Our narrative will be “what’s going on at Miami? Players are leaving? Even highly sought out players?” We won’t see another highly rated recruit come here for several yrs.

Stop the non sense; Lo don’t need to hit the portal, b/c if he does, we’ll be sorry.

And another thing; stop saying “well we got another player coming in, so he won’t be missed if he leaves.” First off, has Chaney signed here? Second, do you know how he’ll do when he comes here? Stopping putting eggs in baskets that don’t exist. Got ****.
