Lagway is really bad. I can't stress this enough. Over the last two seasons, he's thrown 28TDs and 24 INTs. That's abysmal and reflects a QB who can't process or read a defense.

The only reason we're talking about him is because he was a 5-star HS recruit and the media hyped him up as UF's savior.

He sucks.

Yeah I thought he had potential out of high school sling blade Billy ruined him. He needs a year with Dan Mullen at UNLV. He’s not for a top contender in 2026

Not ideal, but best option at this point.
Good size good arm athletic and experienced Qb who would be cheap as well.
Surround him with solid OLine running game and receivers and he will thrive.
Prefer Lagway over current QBs by far.

Nickel would be a better option. Kid has a canon arm and is a gamer .... running Dawson's offense with our OL and skill players ... he would be better than just about any QB in the ACC. Needs to get live fire reps to grow.

Bailey is the best option.

He has ACC experience and is likely to continue to improve. He could do very well with our O-line, talented receivers and running backs. Especially, if we add Smith.

I would take him over Lagway and our current room. I don’t know that our staff would.

That's fair, but yeah it was the blank check thing…. And also again CJ Bailey is a decent NCAA qb, nothing more nothing less, maybe one of the …It is not out of the realm of possibility that Nickel is that good next year. A lock, no...

But yeah you get my drift, it was the blank check part of that.
