Observations from Glendale

Absurd.

Either home stadium would've been packed to the gills for a game this big.

So f'in ridiculous to play the CFP at drab neutral sites and force people to take time off work and spend thousands of dollars to travel so ESPN can milk these sponsorships and host cities for millions. Empty seats is what this format deserves.

Play the National Championship game at the Rose Bowl every single year. Make it the Wembley Stadium of College Football, the cathedral for the sport.
Yep.

Miami. ND. The Trojans when they're rolling ...

Similar kind of fan bases -- inch deep and a mile wide.

Totally different than those massive state universities in the SEC and B1G where people inevitably have family ties to the school.

Nothing wrong with those differences, either
You know, people say this, but it's really not that different. Both fanbases have the fans with the alumni family ties.

Here is the difference. The fans that DON'T have the family ties - of which BOTH fanbases have many - differ based on georgraphy.

For the public schools, they become fans because of location. In Florida, we see this with FSU and UF. Here in Georgia, where I live, it's UGA. Mississippi, it's Ole Miss.

For the private schools that have become big football schools, such as Miami, USC, and Notre Dame, it's simply not based on geography.

But that's it. That's the only difference.

LOL, Not sure anybody in my family had ever even been to SoFla when I was a kid.

Only became a Canes fan in response to one of my older brothers liking the Gators and the other liking the Noles. Going on 52 years now
Theres always a reason and 9 out of 10 are good ones

The Ole miss side was packed...lots of empty seats in the upper deck end zones and corners. It definitely felt more even in Dallas
a lot of ole miss fans only had to drive to new orleans, not make 2 mega plane trips. plus more students generally.

Also, I am pretty much over the over the top corporate sponsorships taking over the atmosphere. Stop trying to force me to cheer for Vrbo. IDGAF about them.
I'm not gonna lie, this took me out.. lol :pgdead:
