Observations from being at the game

The ol getting whipped and Richt not using the inside blitzes against them caused Kosi to get the yips. They were giving us bubbles all day , they were out numbered a lot today.

FSU lined up blitzed the a/b gaps majority of the night. Total disrespect as a play caller.

He didn’t help Kosi at all.

We’re way behind schematically, Richt needs help.

Yes but correction - the guys getting whipped were mostly jahair and Maloney. Outside of the burns strip sack, I don’t believe ND, scaife, St. Louis of gauthier got whipped.

FSU was baiting []__[]s all game. They knew Richt's style and tried to give what they wanted knowing he would take it. Burns tipped that bubble but the DB was still closing hard and they did the same this last season with baiting the bubbles.

Then you gotta double move or fake pump the bubble run a slant or wheel off of it.

We threw a screen I think in the4th that was tipped by burns. If he doesn’t it’s a pick six by the db. I think we ran the ball to control clock. Cmr didn’t want kosi to lose confidence. But the first half he missed open guys so the it also doesn’t give the coach a lot of confidence to let him loose.
I will say this, he did throw it away when he had to and he threw it out of bounds so he was also able to not lose yardage on several plays.
I’m not saying he’s the next stud qb for the U. But the kid was getting pressure all day and out tackles were getting abused at times and he still was able to give us 4 td’s. Short field or not he still has to make the play. Didn’t understand not using out tight ends more.
Jaquan is a beast. He knows exactly where to be and where the ball is going.
Huge difference when he’s not in there. I saw a lot of communication with our db’s and lb’s that second half and I couldn’t tell if it was confusion or normal talking but they made the plays. I hope they either keep it up or straighten it out.

I get RIcht didn't want to put the game on Perry's shoulders, especially early. However, by early 3rd quarter everyone knew that we were going to run on first down, and that was just not working.
One of the few times we passed, it was sometime in the 4th we had a nice gain. I'm not saying we should always pass on first down, but just mixing up a bit would've at the very least given their front 7 a reason to give pause

This is what made me soooo angry. All year FSU has had problems setting the edge with their dends. (their fans were actually worried about this) Both of them...and their lbs arent as athletic in the middle as normal. But their HUGE at dt and our guards are small and week. He wanted to establish the run but he really did Dallas and Homer a disservice. It was actually getting easy for FSU, especially considering we run on 1st downn 99.9% of the time.

Could not have nailed the problem any better. We have had the same problem in other recent games, where we don't attack a defense's weaknesses, and we go after their areas of strength. I understand wanting to "dictate our game" to the defense, but we are not yet Alabama and we need every matchup edge we can create.

Pinckney INT and subsequent Thomas TD catch was the loudest sustained 10 minutes I remember at any game. Stadium literally vibrated. I blacked out and went shirtless. Turned into that gif of the Mexican (?) soccer coach whose head lights on fire.

LOL. Since it was my first game at Hard Rock, I wanted to hear from someone that could compare. I've attended numerous Iron Bowls, and I looked at my wife and said, "this is the loudest atmosphere I've ever been a part of." Just a great atmosphere during the 2nd half.

Great observation - Coach had ZERO faith in our OL with a kid starting his first game vs real D1 talent .... I would have liked to see us throw a little more on first down but coach understands Perry could get sacked, sacked & fumble or pressured into an INT
