Observation from the game...Wide receivers

It's a mixture of predictable play calling and ****** QB play.

We have a big, fast, talented WR corps. If we had an accurate QB he could throw it up there and give them a shot to make a play. Our guys come down with that 7/10 against most of our schedule.

We don't - or at least Richt won't start an accurate QB.

Cager, Langham, Hightower, Njoku and Ezzard aren't little dudes.

Njoku is tall but little size wise. Cager plays little. Langham is slow as **** and will get no separation of the line against press coverage due to this. Ezzard is unknown because he gets no snaps. Pay attention to the premise of my point.

If our WR's are running the same 5 or so routes, and the defenders can pretty much tell from formation and tendency which route you're likely running, it's tough to get separation.

Not saying our WR's aren't phoning it in, but it's more likely scheme, limited route tree, and repetitive/crappy route combos that are more to blame.

This. I can't fully pass judgement on the wrs and their route running in this offense. Defenses are sitting on our routes.

Are yall sure you watched the game??

You ****** Rosier apologists are absolutely insane man smfh... HE WAS 5/12 FOR 46 YARDS THATS 41.6% PASSING.

Rosier didn't throw some head scatchers HE THREW NOTHING BUT BAD PASSES THE ENTIRE GAME. Did you ****nuts not see how inaccurate the QB's were???

The WR's were getting open, the ****** QB's couldn't throw a tennis ball in the Grand Canyon, then yall come on here just rag on the WR's. No wonder half of'em wanna transfer, yall sound just like the got **** coaches smh.

But you know what yall are right, the WR's all suck, hope we stick with Cager and just let him play out there by himself because he's so fckin great. I can't wait til the next batch of WR's get on campus so yall can do the same thing to them too.

I wonder why Haselwood swerved us at the last second 🤔... I bet it has nothing to do with how bad our Offense is.

Calm down. I didn’t see a lot of open receivers in space - nothing like Wisky’s receiver on the first TD. As I said, there were misses. Malik overthrew Langham in the end zone. Missed opportunity.
Malik was no good. But I’m not sure our WRs are being used properly.

As has been said the offense doesn’t do much getting guys in space by motion, lining up differently, etc. to create mismatches. Routes are very basic and against most decent competition it is not enough to just line up and just beat your guy.

You weren't watching then, the QB play was the worst it's ever been in modern school history with the exception of Freeman vs NC St, that's it.

You didn't see all those INT's???

Lazy routes, lazy calls, lazy plays, lazy practices, lazy training, lazy hires, lazy Saturdays.

Yeah, I was watching the game from the 30 yard line in the Stadium. I zoned in on the receivers figuring we couldn’t run the ball. I saw what I saw.
I just think our problems on O go beyond the very poor QB play. The receiving corps just isn’t gelling as it should - for whatever reason.
A lot of folks in the comments above made good points about how we’re failing to use receivers.

Of course our problems on offense go beyond QB play, but that's not on the WR's, they're plenty talented, they play with 2 of the worst QB's in school history & in an old antiquated offense with a god awful play caller, wtf do people expect.

People in here saying they don't create separation are just wrong & that's attempting to place blame on the wrong people. These WR's would miraculously look great if they played in an innovative Offense & had a QB worth a ****.

The WR's aren't the problem.

We’re really not that far apart. I say the WRs aren’t functioning well and you say they would be if they were in an innovative offense (I agree.)

It took Streeter and Johnson and Hurns and Berrios a while.

Next year is huge.

Streeter was Shannon's fault, that kid should've been gettin' burn from jump.

Berrios was Richt's fault, made absolutely no sense to line Him up on the outside His Jr. year...put em' in the slot His Sr. year, He balls out, go figure.

I dunno, but if teams know what you're going to run, doesnt it make it easier to defend

Dan O da Gawd, yesterday was mentioning how he knew when certain concepts/plays were coming from Miami

Big part of the issue is how we use our receivers.

Like trying to use Langham as our vertical threat
Bubbles to Cager
Bubbles to Brevin (who I like) into short side of field.
Lining Harley as X on LOS and letting him get pushed around and thrown off his route

Route combos and how we use our receiving talent severely hampers our rate of success

One big conglomerate of phuckery on that side of ball

Moat definitely all of that. Harley is the best example. He isn't a physical receiver and we're asking him to run routes where the ball is typically contested. Put him in motion, run some slants, dig routes, etc. You get the ball in hands quickly and let himntake advantage of his quickness and top end speed. Even Thomas at times looked puny on routes down the field when they were straight go routes because of his size. **** is whack the way we use them all. Truth be told as well, AR loss really hurt as we didn'tt have anyone like him for this year.

Our WR’s probably most disappointing unit when you consider the talent. Not sure there is one that is less than a 4 star and they all drop balls like it’s their job, yet Duggans is the best coach on the O according to many.
