I think it's a good matchup in that Miami is a similar team to us. Obviously need to avoid the turnovers and that chain.
Not wild about the fact that it's a de facto home game for Miami, but whatever.
Miami has fewer fans (real fans) than UW, so there is that.
Yeah, all 12 Miami fans who still root for them when they're not in the national championship hunt might show up. That could be trouble.
Wisconsin didn't fare too badly the last time they played the U in a bowl game. This time though Miami's players won't have to huddle around heaters like they had to last time in the frigid climes of Orlando.
I once heard Miami's fanbase described as a mile wide but an inch deep
Have you seen the likes of THE U fans? **** me, they are worse than tOSU wanna be grads. A large amount didn't go to the U but they show up in masses and they are a scary bunch. The Champs bowl a few years ago was like walking into Walmart after 10p.
Was looking forward to the bowl game this year, but will be skipping now
I'm not excited about the matchup either. Think Badgers will be favored and can win, but would rather be playing Notre Dame, USC or Auburn in a bowl.
As a UW Alum living in Miami, I couldn't be happier with this matchup. Not simply because the game is a 20 minute drive away from me (though it's a perk), but because the local sports media has been insufferable to listen to the last few weeks. A lot of the radio personalities are former Miami players and the disrespect shown to Wisconsin when discussing potential playoff scenarios has been grotesque. Completely uninformed analysis about our team and no respect whatsoever for our program. Constant talk of how we aren't deserving, we are too slow, we are boring and that we would be blown out by every potential team in the field (including THE U). And certainly no context or knowledge that we have been a far superior program to them for the last decade and a half or remembrance that we beat them handily in a bowl game not that long ago. So while I'm disappointed about last night's game, this matchup is a decent consolation prize.
Toilet Bowl Alert - based on our last game against Miami, their fans have an aversion to flushing the toilet after defecation. Check it out and flush prior, to avoid cross germination. Monsignor can give more details. The Mist and I made him use the public toilets in our hotel; he had issues with Miami fans.
I wonder how many of them actually watched the Badgers.
My guess is not many because it's tough to watch a game..................if them tubes are blowed up in that there TV sittin' on a stack o' them there tires and the coat hanger TV antenna stuck in the dead cat ain't bent just right. I can't wait to punk 'em in their own crib.
I think UW goes down there and completely ***** up Miami. I'm not surprised by the point spread at all. UW wants to show it was as good as its ranking, and I don't think Miami is as good as theirs. The difference in football savvy will ooze out of the TV screen.
