Obligatory, what are Clemson fans thinking thread.....

I live a little less than an hour away from Clemson, in upstate SC. I'm actually going to the ACC championship game with 3 Clemson fans (I'll be leaving them when we get there to sit on the Miami side of the stadium of course). But I've spoken to dozens of local Clemson fans, many of them season ticket holders, & for what it's worth all of them are concerned about playing Miami. Not one of them would pick a winner when I asked them to. Ask them about SC & they were "gonna destroy them". Auburn? "They won't win in death valley". At FSU, at Louisville, at NC State? Same story. They were so confident you'd think they already won. Not with Miami.

I agree with you, my two bosses are Clemson grads and season ticket holders, and they have voiced major concern about Miami. They’ve even mentioned that they think Miami’s front seven is better than theirs.

"Dismantle Miami's offense to a 2 score win" lmao the fake confidence. If I said we were going to dismantle someone's offense (ND for example) I'd say we would win by 28+ not 10-14. 2 scores can be a nail biter game

We got beat by Pitt until proven otherwise, I think Clemson is going to beat the crap out of us.

Here’s a piece of what they think we are worth:

“Their O line is average at best & QB is pretty much their run game. He’s inconsistent throwing the ball beyond 10-15 yds but we know first-hand how a running QB can be effective. Everyone knows how they create turnovers and they’re really dependent on them. Their secondary is very fast & can close on hanging passes & close on receivers that look open. The main thing for the Tigers is to take care of the ball & be consistent in the run game, as well as not over persue on the d line to keep Rosier in check. CLEMSON CAN EASILY WIN THIS ONE BY DOUBLE DIGITS as long as they play clean. Plus there’s always the Mark Richt/big game equation.”

I think it’s time Homer breaks a few big ones.

Honestly dudes, they ARE us, and we ARE them. Kelly Bryant is faster and a better runner than Rosier. Malik has the better arm and BY FAR the better deap ball. Either team can shut the other down and blow the other out depending who plays well, how the turnovers fall, etc. but as far as front line talent, we’re right there with them. I️ expect a big game from Malik and from Irvin.

We’re going to win.

They’re the defending champs and we just lost to Pitt. Not saying we can’t or won’t win but I don’t blame them for being overconfident.

Outside of the Coach Richt part, thats a pretty accurate analysis.

This is the Clemson fans I know. Always overconfident. Many of the fans don’t think we should make the playoff even if we win the acc championship and still think there is scenario if we won where they could get in. I went to the Clemson South Carolina game yesterday and when alcohol gets flowing the little guys get their true feelings out there that they are invincible and Miami has no chance. Truly we are blossoming a year early and we are a quarter back and as weird as this sound a a punter away from being very good and possibly unbeatable. What this team is doing with 72 scholarship players is unreal. With that said Miami wins Saturday 27-17 we own PRIMTIME

If one team should be confident going into this game, it should certainly be them. I don't expect us to win, but the facts are that we can so that's why you lace them up. I just hope we show up and can make a game of it as that Pitt loss was terrible.

Losses are never good

That being said even if we were undefeated we would he the underdog and worried going into this game

Is there anyone MORE confident now that we lost to Pitt and everyone is ragging on us?

I am. No way they don't come out ****ed off and ready to dominate. Will we win? Idk but we have a better shot than we would if we had squeaked by Pitt

I agree in that Clemson can win by double digits but lol at the comment of our secondary being very fast. It’s the front 4 they have to worry about.

I think we can contain their offense. Bryant doesn’t scare me too much if he’s forced to pass. What concerns me is their front 4’s ability to control the LOS

This, and I have zero faith in our running game. Outside of GT, Homer hasn’t really done anything until near the end of games.

This.

If we had beaten Pitt by, say, four points, we’d be going into Charlotte as uncertain Undefeateds and perhaps Number 3 in the polls. We’d be on the psychological defensive.

Now everyone is ragging on us. There won’t be one guy on Gameday who picks us. Period. Everyone is going to say that Pitt exposed Miami and Dabo will finish the job. This is going to happen all week.

Richt needs to make sure that these young men see this disrespect, because that’s what it will be.

our Offensive line need to have their best game of the year.. they at least held their ground against VT which will be our closest thing we've seen to clemson's D

One of my coworkers said, we took it too far beaten y'all 58-0. We going to miss getting those south Florida recruits"
