... For every OL penalty in practice, punishment is 50 up downs for violator. UM coaches are sick of these penalties

UM, disgusted with offensive line penalties, is making OL do 250 up downs - a lot harder than pushups - for every penalty he commits in game

Nevermind that penalties have nothing to do with why our defense still cant stop anybody, they've become the excuse du jour.

Penalties = the new cloud

I doubt that they will get it fixed, but the truth is that much of our problem on 3rd down conversions and red zone failures can be traced to these constant penalties.

Reactionary yet again.

Lol what are they supposed to do punish them before they commit a penalty? This is **** they should've learned before they got to UM.

What he is saying is that these penalties have been going on all year. (and I bet in Fall camp as well)..And now they want to bring down punishment midseason when Golden is basically fighting to save his career here? Oh and 4 days before the biggest game of his coaching life at UM...Day late, dollar short.

I always felt that exercise shouldn't be a punishment. Players should like doing up downs.

Cut their reps in the game.

^This. We've had multiple 1st and goals from inside the 5 turn into 1st and goal from the 15. We've had 3rd and short turn into 3rd and 8-10. We've had 5 TDs called back on penalties.

I don't think anyone here disagrees our defense has it's own failures, but our offense has left massive amounts of points on the field due to penalties.
