O-Line, O-Line, O-line; Anybody?

not sure if will be ready but lets not forget campbell/Herbert/Hillary also there is talent here as long as have a coach knows what he is doing line should be much better then last year

I’m optimistic Campbell will be able to contribute. Wou”d consider anything from Hillery/Herbert to be a positive surprise.

Scaife, Donaldson, and Reed are all 4 star recruits. Kennedy has played well above his rating and was wanted by a bunch of top teams to start for them. Gaynor was 3 stars but is a mauler. We have the talent on the line but they just need to be coached up.
Damm that's good news, did not realize

Heard a lot last season that seemed to indicate lack of OL "talent", soft, etc. Very nice to hear we may have the goods and just need to wear them well (better coaching, training, conditioning, motivation).

We can’t bring in anything else. Unless we start kicking guys out then we gotta stick with what Searles recruited which isn’t that bad on paper. If we keep taking kids there the scholarship distribution would be heavy there. We might suck at o line but it’s not for lack of bodies. There are other positions that we just straight up need scholarships for and not a lot of those left.
Start the transformation, let’s coach up what we have and add thru portal and recruiting. Speaking of, does anyone know anything about a kid at Am Heritage Plantation, Tyler Milord, 2019 grad, Ol G 6’4” 280 not committed?🤔

Depth is a serious issue, but even bigger is the question of whether or not we have any LTs to begin with. We are putting a lot of faith in Kennedy, but we don't have any other choice right now and I doubt we find a stud LT via the portal.

Seems like the portal guys are moving due to PT/opportunities. If you are a stud LT you are playing where you are already at.

As long as Kennedy’s up for the job and we don’t get hit hard by injuries we’ll be ok this year.

But we need to sign 5–6 next cycle.
True that, how about we pick up a couple of kids at the end of this cycle. Needles in a haystack.

Down the road, 2022 grad but this kid just got offered by Auburn. St Thomas kid.

You guys who say we just have to be average on the O-line are missing something. Miami always has skill players, they seldom have the O-lines to allow those skills to do their thing, the way we need them to do it. We have a couple that are developing Scaife was decent, but struggled near the end of the season. As someone pointed out zero depth. The new O-line coach I hope works a miracle.

No-one in the final four - not even Notre Dame had an average O-line. The best thing about an O-line is not hearing anything about them, the announces are just talking about the skills - that was the case in the Final four.

Had Clemson had an average O-line, they don;t pick up every blitz package Bama threw at them the first half to rattle the pretty boy. That allowed him confidence to make his throws. Had they come clean on a few of those blitzes, maybe they do rattle the kid.

As a comparison, think back to LSU (Florida's front 7 will be very similar, but better). LSU rolled the dice and blitzed a bunch, and it worked - guys were coming up the A gap untouched and interrupting most of what we were trying to do.

We definitely need competition in the O line and grad transfers are a great place for developed players. I still think we are good at adding more scholarship players.

Donaldson, Gaynor, Reed, Campbell, Kennedy, Scaife all arrived with some fanfare. Not a bad 6-pack on paper. There's no more time to wait for Hillery, Herbert, Brown, Dykstra. They'll be 2nd team and must be ready.

they h ave talent both of them some oline guys take 3 yrs. Wisconsin/iowa/bc a lot of there line guys never play till rs sophomore years. yes occasionally they and other top line schools start guys as true freshman but its only cause kid is otherworldly unlike Miami being forced to start Donaldson Scaife because there just wasn't anyone better around. coaching was a huge issue also. if u read thedraftnetwork.com they talk about how st louis had poor coaching and it shows. how his skill level was misused at Miami by coaches forced to do things he shouldn't of been forced to do with his skill level better coaching and I think we have that in berry will help the oline alot

Most of these dudes you mentioned were OVERRATED coming out of HS ( It happens. Akin to some HS players being UNDERRATED. )! Nothing more, nothing less.

We could use a couple Upperclassmen transfers on OL. Our young talent is good but still needs some time to mature. This team will really go places if we add some nasty maulers on OL. With all the other moves that have happened (we are shaping up very nicely) so OL should become priority #1 in recruiting and in the Portal.
I feel this way on both sides..... might haveta over recruit the trenches to right the ship....it is what it is....another position or two can wait til next cycle....imo
