O-LINE…

REALITY AND DENIAL IS SOMETIMES A STR8UP *****….BUT THANK YOU ALL FOR PROVING MY POINT….WHEN THE PENALTIES, SACKS AND OVERALL PASS PROTECTION IS BELOW “MIAMI HURRICANE STANDARDS”….IT CREATES A VOID IN THE MASTER PLAN YOU CANT WASH OFF…CARRY ON 🙌🏻
Shut the fucc up
Maybe he was a little liquored up- but I know I don’t like the state of the O line— we could easily lose a game once we get to CFP— and if it doesn’t bite us at ND first… secondary is a mess on top of it.
I wish I could just put my orange & green glasses on and think everything’s great— but we are vulnerable at two key units

The good news is there is no dominate team…. We will have to get extremely lucky to run the table and go undefeated

Pre-snap & other penalties problem and it’s not getting better either…

Just calling it like I see it. He’s not wrong

I don't think Merriweather is the answer at guard. He rotated some with Max at RG against CMU. When McCoy got hurt against Clemson he played RT and almost got Mensah killed. After Max's surgery, SJ has gotten most of the snaps. He did not play against FsU. Yesterday, he was the second string RT and Hawkes played LG.

That tells me everything I need to know.

The team is far from perfect. I acknowledge that. It’s the doubling down so that when we lose in the future - which is inevitable - he can point at his thread like he’s Nostradamus.

Yeah, there are those… all CAPs doesn’t give the impression of a well reasoned argument-
rather it comes across as I drank way too much… all I’m saying is there are doubts I guess it depends on how they’re expressed

The OL is a bit worse than I hoped for at this point with injuries, but God willing with more and more reps, they will be enough

We just went through all of this in another thread. These are clearly the two weaknesses. The Oline played well enough considering the amount of pressure Pitt was sending. Dawson countered well either way the uptempo spread. I’d like to see more of it. The presnap penalties need to be cleaned up and so do exchanges on stunts. They played better than the FSU game. The DBs have been banged up but are giving up too many explosives. Hetherman is using a band aid there but less Thornton was good. The DLine did not get as much pressure as they could have but Pitt was utilizing the quick throws to counter our pass rush. We really could use OJ and Slime back but that doesn’t seem to be in works for the immediate future.

As a whole though what team is more complete that you don’t think we can beat in the playoffs?

I have mentioned I don’t think there is “A team to beat” and the title is up for grabs—

And you’re missing my point— it’s not any specific team that might just take us down— it could be any team as the season goes on….

I can see some team just seizing on these weaknesses and exploiting them, where we lose a game we could easily have won…
I don’t think these things will be fixed by the time of the CFP
Sorry, I hope I’m wrong but those are my concerns, and that of many here I think….

I guess we agree to disagree I see us as the least flawed of the contenders and we have the best QB of the group which is the most important position in the game.

I like our chances! Is it perfect right now? **** no but I guarantee you Mario and company are hard at work pressing the issues with the OL and Pass defense. The DBs suffered from a lack of pass rush from the DLine. But again we were up 31-7 at halftime.

I’m wondering why they had Bryce up around the line of scrimmage and Dunnigan was back in coverage more… I would have assumed the opposite. Maybe it’s the freedom they’re giving that position and trust Bryce to roam more? Also I didn’t see terrible technique from a footwork or hands on issue with the DBs as we barely played up on their receivers. It appears we just lost them in coverage or had poor angles-back pedaling.

Congden had a rough game on the Oline. Luckily we played a lot of uptempo and got the ball out quickly. Mensah played a masterful game aside from maybe 2 passes he should have checked down and 2 passes he forced into coverage when another receiver was open.
