Ny Carr to the portal

They get opportunities in practice. Thats where playing time is earned. Malachi came in and instantly earned a starting job cause he was crushing it in practice. Same with Fitzgerald. Some guys take a few months of practice to show it and some never beat anyone else out. I would assume Carr is trying hard in practice but just not outshining players ahead of him. Blocking could be an issue as well. Not something I have heard, but it's always possible.
Good luck to him elsewhere. Hope he picks a good fit for his game and does well.
I can see blocking as an issue. North texas or baylor i feel would be good fits for him.

I expected more from Carr bases on the limited reps I saw from him. Maybe he catches on somewhere, but I think it's safe to say the staff is very high on the TF WRs and they surpassed the guys in front of them in their eyes.
I thought in the very limited snaps in games he received he actually did quite well

I agree. My comment was maybe a bit unclearly worded, though... I meant that based on what I saw, I expected a bigger role/future.
It did seem like we were really feeding him at the end of the game which I was thinking was maybe a sign they could see him staying with Johnson and Marion leaving. I could have seen him backing up Toney and Upshaw for sure. But I suspect we will be getting an upperclassman outside portal WR again (otherwise we’d have a **** load of youth at wr which is good but also could have leadership issues). And then you just think it’d be between Carr and Spafford for similar snaps competing to be Toney’s backup and with Upshaw…

Maybe im wrong but why go through all the trouble and time to recruit this kid and then never give him an opportunity to play. Maybe he wasn't doing enough to crack the rotation but he looked good in the limited snaps at pitt
Players usually don't get opportunities to play on Saturday because they haven't done enough to earn it every other day of the week. Sometimes it's because they're not good and other times they're solid but there's someone better at their position.
