Numbers Never Lie: ACC Stats on Offense Through Five Games

Exactly. It’s like Mario had to put the brakes on the offense after a couple good games. He needs to gtfo out of the way and just recruit. He’s horrible otherwise.
Yep. I’m glad that the rest of the majority of the board has finally awakened to the facts.

I said it time and time again since last season and was negged a lot.

This head corch is King Corch, and should never have been hired here, specially not paid $8 million a year to further sink our once storied and proud program.

The village idiots and stooges that head the BoT and the Admin have made criminally bad decisions for almost 20 years now, and have effectively killed the football program. I abhor them one and all.

I tried to stay patient and positive because I hoped that he was smart enough to realize that he had to evolve and grow. I thought that we could accumulate a great amount of elite talent because of his recruiting prowess and then even if things didn't work out with Mario specifically that we as a program would at the very least be in a much better place in terms of facilities/infrastructure and football talent.

Sadly I'm beginning to realize that even the above may not be possible. It seems as though his severe lack of football acumen is going to prevent him from doing what he does best and that is to recruit. I thought since UM is his alma mater that there would be a sense of urgency to be better than he has been. I mistakenly thought that coming home to fulfill his dream of coaching his school and knowing exactly what it was that put us on the map in the first place would make him see that UM is UM because we were on the cutting edge in football in terms of schemes and using homegrown speed to our advantage. It is with much disappointment and sadness that I'm coming to the sobering realization that he doesn't give a rip about any of that. For some strange reason he seems to think that he has to coach every team he has as if they are 2012 Alabama and he will literally cut off his nose to spite his face to do just that. It fills me with profound sadness that I was fooled into believing that this man could do the things I hoped he could do.

There is a moral to this story and that is never to put anyone on a pedestal. More clearly what I mean is that often times we tend to look at people like Mario who are at a place in their profession where they can command an 80 million dollar contract and automatically ascribe to them qualities that we assume they would have to have in order to be in that position. In this case one would think that a coach in that position would have a tremendous amount of football knowledge schematically, conceptually and otherwise but life experience often teaches us that is not nearly always the case. In today's world more often than in the past we are seeing examples of the Peter Principle in full effect and nobody in this profession embodies that principle at work quite like Bozo the Cristobal.

Conference Records since Shannon:

Shannon: 2-6, 4-4, 5-3, 5-3 (fired): Overall: 16-14

Golden: 3-5, 5-3, 5-3, 3-5, 1-2 (fired): Overall: 17-18

Richt: 5-3, 7-2, 4-4 (resigned): Overall: 16-9

Manny: 4-4, 7-2, 5-3 (fired): Overall: 16-9

Cristobal: 3-5, 2-3: Overall: 5-8. Very good chance this is at best, 6-10 after two seasons…

If he loses out, not only will he be 5-11 in ACC play, but it’ll be the worst single-season conference record since Shannon 17 years ago.

Failure to win two of our remaining three games, and It will be the worst conference record through two seasons for a Miami Head Coach ever (yes, I know we were independent for a while). So here’s a different one: should he fail to win one more game this season, it’ll be the worst start for a Miami head coach since Lou Saban in the mid 70’s…

AND WE GAVE HIM 80 MIL
And MarioBro is doing this with infinitely more resources than anyone else on that list.

Bravo, brother!

The Peter Principle is spot on and I was hoping that wouldn’t be the case based on his success at Oregon, even though I will admit, I didn’t pay the closest attention to a lot of their games.

He’s a great O-line guy, great recruiter, but he fails at the other things required to be a good head coach, let alone a great head coach.
