NO NAMES, gents. I don't care about Eddie Goldman or Deon Bush or Tracy Howard. This is just a discussion about the numbers in this class and positions we need to fill with players.

Currently we have the following committed

QB - 3
RB - 2
WR - 5
TE - 1
OL - 3
DE - 3
DT - 1
LB - 5
CB - 4
S - 1

This includes three "soft verbals" (1 WR, 2 LB).

Gives us a total of 28 players so far.

Lets say we take 35, just for the **** of it. Leaves us 7 spots. You have those 7 slots open.

Which positions do you slot those 7 un-named players?

My answer...

7 slots.

1 RB
1 TE
1 OL
1 DE
1 DT
2 DB

Think this is spot on. I would drop the extra RB if the right one isn't available and add the best player regardless of position. One of the DBs has to be a true S.

As much as we need playmakers, if we can't hit on the elite and have to end up with marginal talent, I'd rather solidify the interior lines and stockpile more OL and DL.

Corner, safety and WR are positions we can't afford anymore middle of the road players. If we are to take the next step and become a quality team again, these positions have to begin to filled with elite talent IMO.

2 DTs and you can pull one off any of the other positions with the exception of the DBs.

1 RB
2 OG/C (our interior OL depth chart is horrific, worse than DT)
1 DT (I think Hamilton moves to DT)
1 DE
1 CB
1 S

I would drop Burgess and add another DE
