Number 0

He’s in his second season. I’ve seen not much more than potential from him thus far and I haven’t seen much of anything this year in games that makes me understand how/why some of the folks on this thread are out caping for him so much. I don’t want to lose him, but I also don’t see the second coming of Jahmyr Gibbs like some of you seem to.
I have never compared him to Gibbs, so stop it. That's a strawman argument.
Also, the fact that you volunteered to stand up to my comment that called no one out specifically says a ton.

And it wasn’t a strawman argument. I’ll save that lesson for another day. If you want to cheat, Google it.

Ok. How about this. He looks like a third string running back on a championship caliber team. He is average to date based on what’s been put on film. The level of caping he receives from some on here - you especially - is commensurate to someone producing at Jahmyr Gibbs like levels.

Don’t like Jahmyr Gibbs comparison? Pick another name of someone way better than Pringle. It’s a loooonnng list. I didn’t choose Gibbs for a straight comparison of skills. I chose him because some of you act as though he’s at some elite level and to date, he hasn’t shown it. You know all this.

For clarity, I’m not rooting against Pringle. I want him to succeed. I want him to play on Sundays for a decade. I’m also not gonna porst about how awesome he has been or would be or will be when in reality he hasn’t been. Both of those things can exist simultaneously.
It's not too complicated. He averaged 6.0 ypc which was the best on the team last year. So yeah I like actual production. We haven't seen that yet but I'm confident it'll show up.

Google “sample size.”

Then Google “sample size as applied to statistical analysis related to future probabilities.”

Then we can continue.

Pringle is the most talented back we have. Look at film from last year. Can’t get consistent reps. We’ll lose him to SMU after the season. He’ll be another Brashard Smith.
He can’t block *******! End of discussion. It boggles my mind the amount of morons that come on here saying he needs to play more when he can’t ******* block! Do you not see our offensive line issues, do you want a running back out there that can’t ******* block?! Smh

Its pass blocking he is too small pause, if he was a normal size he may be starting but you have to be able to do both. Because if you cant pass block the defense knows you are getting the ball and you wasting the down. There its that simple

He literally started 3 out of the last 4 games and led the team in rushing in the last 4 games including Pitt where Fletcher started. The argument for Pringle is clear and valid based on last year. He has yet to perform up to that level, but let's be real here, the blocking has been abysmal. As I said in this thread, Pringle will be fine and this will play out. He was 5th string to start last year and his production had him at RB2 or RB1b by the Pitt game. RB is a position where it's going to play out. Also to say he's #3 isn't really accurate. They seem to get him touches no matter what. Dawson has said he's a guy they try to get involved. He won't be the primary RB due to 190 lb's but they will give him reps.

Facts bruh, straight goofy behavior on here man. Everyone knows Pringle can cut and cook and has speed he is just too small to block. Everyone will know its a run if he is in the game and they cant seem to understand this, in the age of you cant give another team tips and if he is in the game thats a huge chance its a run lol. They dont get it

100% and it’s because a bunch of idiots on here never even played the ******* game of football. They all think they’re just playing madden on their Xbox. It’s ridiculous on here and it’s always the same idiots!

Preach!!!
I love Pringle's running ability, to me its the best in the room. But after getting destroyed by an SU linebacker in the playoffs and almost getting Beck killed he never played again in the playoffs. I knew right there it was the right call by Mario

I'd like to see more 20 or 21 personnel and get him 4-5 targets per game.

Dawson honestly hasn't shown much at all through 4 games. We haven't thrown a single pass to a back beyond the LOS. I think there's a lot of meat on that bone with Pringle and another bigger back playing at the same time. Wheel routes, angle routes, choice routes etc. out of the backfield with him working against linebackers would be a nice matchup.

Pringle isn't going to be the feature back that's required for this offense. He's a good back, but he lacks the physical traits that Fletcher, Brown, Mallory brings to the table. Also, you can add D. Martinez to the list.

BTW, Mallory is going to be the next feature back.

Pringle would probably have to take a Brashad Smith route to get to the league because he has the talent.
We all want & try to them to make the RB rotations make sense, but they just don't sometimes.

I agree Mario prefers a bigger RB but he's also shown an affinty to small RB's

2021 - Travis Dye started at Oregon
2022 - Henry Parrish & Jaylan Knighton was our 1-2 punch
2023 - Parrish & Ajay Allen were our 1-2 over Fletcher & Chaney some games
2025 - Pringle beat out Lyle and was ahead of Brown for 5 straight games. But Lyle was ahead of Pringle last game.

It's a fluid thing that's going to be confusing at times

not true. They use him as a receiver in the flats. There's 2 ways to slow down a blitz, block it or punish it.

Moving forward give me the 2 back with him and Fletcher. We have a RPO option for Mensah to give it to Fletch or swing it to Pringle.

I used to be one of those idiots lmao. I remember the young version of myself would be on their side. But actually seeing a winner last year changed a bunch of my ways I used to think. I will still have some idiot takes in the future.

But if you can’t block you can’t play

You guys are so funny. The only reason all those guys went to SMU was because they had a relationship with Lashlee. Pringle and really no one else on this roster has that relationship anymore. Lashlee has been gone too long.

Also, we are in the NIL era my friend. Money talks. If Pringle was going to walk it happened last year. Miami upped the ante. What I will say is that if Pringle doesn't produce and he walks, it won't be his choice this year.

You can do that but he has to be put in at times just to block so the defense can say ok he blocks he may not get the ball. If he is in a bunch of plays where he blocks and does it well the defense then doesn't know he is getting the ball. Makes sense?

If he is super dynamic (which he is) and he is put in the game the defense can easily key in on him and say its a run. I think that is why he has to block better, but when teams are tougher and bigger he wont do it well enough he wont play. I agree if he blocks at a consistent level than yes him and Fletch. But he has to stand guys up and rock them, if he is getting bullied then no.

Im a huge Pringle fan as everyone knows because he was huge last year and is very different from our other RB. He might have the best acceleration of any back we've had. He hasn't gotten it going yet, but he looked like himself last game. People still are confused about what he does and expecting these 80 yd outside runs. Pringle is mostly a between the tackles runner and he's doing his job if he's hitting those holes with ridiculous quickness and speed and getting us 5 to 7 yards. He had a very high success rate on that last year. As it comes to the big plays and outside runs which yes he certainly can do, those are going to come. For example imagine if he had been given the ball on those two runs against Stanford that we actually did seal on the edge that Mallory ran. Those would have been touchdowns with Pringle. Overall the blocking has been atrocious when he's gotten in there and he's not one to be able to break tackles in the backfield before you even gets going. If he breaks tackles it'll be because he's running with ridiculous speed through people. That Central Michigan defender got lucky to grab his sleeve on Saturday or he might have scored.

It's pretty obvious the coaches haven't forgot about him and are clearly trying to get him going. We paid to keep him. This will play itself out as the season goes on and I'm pretty sure Pringles going to do just fine.
Couldn't agree more. Pringle has UNREAL acceleration. There was 1 ball that was thrown to him in the Wake game I remember vividly where the ball took a second to get to him over in the flat and it looked like the linebacker and DB in the area were going to close on him for like a 2 yard gain, but he ended up making it a 7-8 yard gain due to his ridiculous acceleration.

You’re trying to push some narrative. Pardon me for letting facts get in the the way.

Some of your claims are completely made up. RB1b? Is that the stunt double for R2D2? Or C-3PO?

He played well against NC State and Pitt. He also got some stats against Cuse. (F Fran Brown). He had 62 carries on the season last year. He’s had 21 this year for a 3.6 ypc average. You don’t get to just omit that. He’s also put up that 3.6 number against Stanford, Famu, Wake and Central Michigan. Your point about the blocking stinking is (mostly) true, but again, you don’t get to just leave out the poor competition.

Lastly, why is it not fair to call him #3? #4 is probably more accurate. Fletcher. Brown. Mallory. Pringle. Lyle. CWH. Brown is hurt. Therefore #3.
