Blake told boosters today the U is going after a big name coach and has deep pockets to do it. That the hiring will occur by January.Thats not what you do when you intend on hiring Butch Davis. The only hope is the search falls flat on its face which it could then its back to Butch but I think the chances are very slim.
 
I'm game for various reasons. I really don't care about the lifetime ban either way though, but I'll play.

What is sickening is how these Tebowite-style Butch fans would probably sabotage the search just to get him. I swear Miami could go after Mark Dantonio who runs the 1991 version of our defense, and people would still rather Botch. It's a disease, and these people need help.

i want Butch but i'm all ears to others as well like Patterson, Art Briles, Stoops meaning Bob, Gundy, although i have concerns about Kelly outside his record but i would like to see his plan. gambles would be before herman and fuente would be Fritz and Campbell.

I'm pretty sure no one is against hiring a proven coach who's better than what butch has to offer. I for one would love butch to be our coach, but if a top tier coach is in play you definitely go for that individual.

But the concern comes with hiring a Cristo ball rather than butch is unacceptable. No more lame duck coaches. No more coaches on the rise. No more hot shot coordinators. Top dog with butch being the floor.
