DAVIE, Fla. -- Most of South Florida's top football programs sent representatives to the campus of Nova Southeastern University as part of South Florida High School media day on Saturday afternoon. With the long list of high school programs came a longer list of college-bound football prospects. Below are updates on a number of region's top players and the direction of their respective recruitments.
Rivals100 wide receiver Binjimen Victor will take official visits to Ohio State and Tennessee. As of now, those are the only two destinations written on his agenda in ink, as plenty of other schools are vying to land his final three trips. According to Victor, LSU, Auburn, Georgia, Louisville, Florida, and Miami are all in the mix to land visits.
Four-star defensive back Trayvon Mullen, a Rivals100 member, has tentative plans to take official visits to Florida State, LSU, TCU, Clemson and Georgia. On Saturday, however, he said he feels as though those plans may change. According to Mullen, LSU and Clemson are certain to retain their standing as official visit destinations. The rest of his list, on the other hand, stands to be altered in the coming weeks. Ohio State, Florida and Tennessee have made recent pushes and are now in the mix to receive visits from Mullen, who is likely to make a decision this fall.

Miami commit Sam Bruce says he will sign with Miami, to which he is currently committed, unless the program undergoes a coaching change. Bruce continues to visit other schools in an effort to establish backup options, however, and named Florida State, Florida, Ohio State and Auburn as his current failsafe plans. The Rivals100 prospect intends to take an official visit to each this fall.
Florida, Georgia, Alabama and LSU lead the recruitment of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage defensive end Brian Burns. Burns was somewhat hesitant to name frontrunners on Saturday, but listed those schools when asked which hats would be on the table if Signing Day were here. Burns said he hopes to have a decision before the start of the season and added that his mother was particularly impressed with the Florida coaching staff. He intends to take official visits even after he announced a verbal commitment.
Class of 2017 five-star Trevon Grimes doesn't come right out and dispute the widespread notion that Ohio State is the solid leader in his recruitment. The standout wide receiver laughs it off and insists that other schools are in play. According to Grimes, Miami and Florida State are also real threats to land his verbal commitment. Grimes plans to visit Ohio State this fall and may tour a few other schools as well.
Michigan commit Devin Gil says he intends to take official visits to Louisville, UCF and Colorado. Gill says the Michigan coaching staff has given him its blessing when it comes to touring other campuses this fall. He also says that he intends to enjoy his official visit schedule but can't imagine changing his current commitment status.
Linebacker Zach McCloud, a Miami commit, remains a member of the Hurricanes' 2016 recruiting class but plans to take an extended look around. Om Saturday, he announced his intention to take all five of the official visits allotted to him by NCAA bylaws and indicated that he'd like to tour the campuses of Florida State and Auburn. McCloud has already visited Auburn and has been seriously considering the Tigers for some time.
Miami Central offensive lineman Navaughn Donaldson, a Miami commit, says he intends to keep his options open despite his standing as a Hurricane commit. The class of 2017 four-star is particularly interested in Georgia, which he says was his favorite school growing up. He names North Carolina, N.C. State and Florida State as other schools of interest.
Alabama has joined Florida State and Georgia at the forefront of Stanford Samuels' recruitment. The class of 2017 four-star says he will wait until his senior season to make a verbal commitment, but has a solid top three in place as things stand now. Most believe that FSU will ultimately land Samuels, whose father played for the Seminoles. Still, the Pembroke Pines (Fla.) Flannigan star insists the Tide and Bulldogs have a real chance to land his commitment.

Despite being solid in his pledge to the Seminoles, Cowen says he is in close contact with both Notre Dame and Georgia. Cowan committed to FSU earlier this summer but says he remains open to speaking with any school interested in recruiting him.
Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard linebacker Kenneth Ruff named a top five of Kentucky, Louisville, South Carolina, Illinois and N.C. State on Saturday. He insisted that each of the five stand on equal footing for the time being, but backed off that statement a bit when pressed. When asked which program would land his signature if he had to sign with a school today, Ruff said that the Gamecocks would receive his letter of intent.
Rivals100 defensive back Marco Wilson, a 2017 prospect, arrived at South Florida media day with crutches and what his coaches were calling a "sprained knee." Wilson's brother currently attends Florida. And while the four-star defensive back never names the Gators as the official frontrunner, it seems as though the do hold some semblance of edge. Ohio State, Alabama, Tennessee and South Carolina are also heavily involved in Wilson's recruitment.
Daniel Wright, a four-star athlete in the class of 2017, says that Florida State still holds a slight lead in his recruitment. Wright recently visited LSU, however, and says the Tigers are closing the gap. As of now, LSU trails the Seminoles slightly but Wright reserves the right to switch up his pecking order in the near future. Wright says that he hopes to visit Ohio State sometime after his upcoming junior season but has not worked out any particulars of such a trip.
Tight end Nick Eubanks says Alabama, Oregon, USC, LSU and Florida currently lead his recruitment. According to the three-star tight end, no one program has emerged as the frontrunner, but he hopes to make a verbal commitment sometime before the start of his senior season. He sees himself as versatile option that should be used as a target in the passing game as well as a run blocker. Eubanks' older brother is a current basketball player at Alabama.
Class of 2017 tackle Tedarrell Slaton didn't visit many colleges this offseason but plans to do so following his junior campaign. Still, Slaton's recruitment is taking some sort of shape. According to Slaton, who lists more than 15 offers, Michigan and LSU currently stand out from the pack. He's in no hurry to make a verbal commitment and may wait until the start of his senior season to do so.
