Notre Dame Perceptive

A quick glance at their message boards
-- Many believe they were outcoached--bad play calls and using their best player as a decoy--Freeman getting roasted--played not to lose--too conservative--looked outclassed and unprepared Quote " How come it always takes our Coordinators 2 1/2 qtrs to figure out what the **** we’re doing in every big game (last year’s playoffs excluded)? We literally spot the other team 10 pts and then figure out how to make the adjustments any normal fan will ask for"
--They cant understand how why they struggled so much in the trenches-this was not supposed to happened. Lots of blame on their two tackles-one of which was pulled at one point in the game.
-- Some are calling for a portal QB going forward
--Quote " The defense was supposed to be a huge strength but they really couldn’t get a lot of pressure on the QB. The D line sucked. The offense game plan was totally mind boggling. Love barely touched the ball in the first half. Jaden Greathouse was near nonexistent. No deep passes at all. For his first game, CJ was fine. The play calling sucked. The O line sucked. Overall, coaching lost this game."

Watched a couple of their post game podcasts. They backtracked on the coaching comments they had before the game but just can’t come to grips with the reality that we actually have better players or at least equal talent at most positions.
They’re putting the blame on everything else except the players.

Every fanbase copes hard.

Fanbases populated by people who tend to be smart and clueless get extra creative with their copium.

"If you take away their two best plays, we would have won."

We get to keep all of our best plays, of course. None of those were fluky.

"The refs allowed their running backs to keep going forward and didn't blow plays dead the minute the players slowed down."

Physical play is only legitimate when we're the team leaning forward for hard yards!

"This is a team ND would beat in week five or six."

Only our team is allowed to improve week-to-week!

Fans of the gator do this as well; the participation trophy instincts are strong among the mediocre.

Biggest takeaway I had from this past weekend is there should be no P4 matchups in week 1. Let them work their crap out against G6 and FCS teams in week 1. Lots of slogging in the marquis matchups this weekend.

I actually liked their game plan offensively. They

really didn’t ask Carr to do a lot of downfield passing. It was 90% screens and they had some decent success. Their offensive line and running backs didn’t hold up their end of the deal.

Jeremiah Love is supposed to be a Heisman caliber player but he did NOTHING. I still find it odd, that they have this “superstar” running back and they never give him a lot of carries. 10 for 33 yards against Miami. Only one game all of last season with 15 or more carries and it was 16. I get not wanting to overload a guy but if you’re not going to use him in a top ten matchup, when exactly are you going to use him?

I believe Notre Dame is a very good team. Especially defensively. I don’t think they were prepared for our defensive front. Those guys got manhandled by Bain, Messidor and Blay. I honestly believe we have an elite defensive line.

If they lose to A&M it might be over for them. Schedule outside of USC is pretty mid. Kinda want ND to have a good rest of the year, makes our win looks really good in case we need help at the end of the year.

I think they’ll beat A&M at home and probably drop a game somewhere else later on (maybe USC, or @ BC or @ Pitt or something)

They’re a very talented and well-coached team. I expect them to look pretty good against most of their schedule

Could see that but it'd be in our best interest for them to handle business the rest of the way. Don't need the media trying to diminish our win.

Get by A&M with that D and OL they will run the table.

I know this is crazy but maybe what we made units look the way they did. Doesn’t mean their Tackle stinks or Love isn’t a Heisman contender.

Our OL is big time. Bain was an absolute animal last night.

Just like when we play uSf, UF, FSU, and SMU. Each pose different challenges that may expose any issues we have. But last night we showed for about 52 minutes some of the best football Miami has played in a long time with a roster than can play with anyone

My buddy is an ND fan and was at the game. He was also at their A&M game in College Station last year.

Said our atmosphere was tougher and louder by far. He was shocked ND didn’t have false starts or a ton of confusion pre snap.

Wouldn't have been called anyway.
