Love barely touched the ball in the first half. Jaden Greathouse was near nonexistent. No deep passes at all. For his first game, CJ was fine. The play calling sucked. The O line sucked. Overall, coaching lost this game."

Calling for a transfer QB is wild. I thought Carr looked good for his first game and has a bright future ahead.
I get where they’re coming from. We’ve seen it two openers in a row…proven entity is massively important in big spots, and there’s always going to be someone available.

They themselves saw it the last two years with Hartman and Leonard.

Looking around college football, the teams with unproven entities in big games really struggled…even Ohio State was held to 14 in their win.

Yeah i get that. But how does he become proven if he never plays? People just want to plug and play greatness nowadays with zero of the journey to get there.

I agree with most of that except they have a QB and I guess they're too dumb to realize it. That kid kept them in the game.. He'll be a good one.

Personally, I want to win and that’s how the coaches get graded. And the shortest path, especially at QB, is the portal. The hit rate on high school QBs is essentially a coin flip and they cost a LOT. So unless you have the rare kid that is really talented AND willing to wait their turn while they develop, your choices are starting an 18 year old and punting on your season or bringing in a veteran.

I think they drank a little bit too much of their kool aid and they thought their personnel were leaps and bounds better than ours. Any unbiased rational person could see some of the deficiencies they had in this matchup (newsflash that's why vegas had this game so close)

1. R. Leonard not there and having to start a young qb
2. Their dline against our oline was a matchup we were likely going to win
3. Home game for us

I actually thought their coaching staff did a good job of managing their qb and trench situations - that's the reason they stayed within striking distance. In my opinion their personnel is good (top 15 worthy) but not great and freeman did a pretty good job keeping them competitive.

Also want to say that Love kid is overrated. The constant hurdling screams him wanting to have a "heisman moment"instead of just playing hard for his team. His body language felt like someone who was pouting that he was not getting the ball.

Sounds like us (the CIS) many many times

My buddy is an ND fan and was at the game. He was also at their A&M game in College Station last year.

Said our atmosphere was tougher and louder by far. He was shocked ND didn’t have false starts or a ton of confusion pre snap.

I was shocked too. The rain took the crowd out of it for a few spurts of the game but it sounded loud af on tv.

I don't know. I thought he played OK, maybe a little better than I thought he would. He had one chunk play on busted coverage that gave him 25% of his passing yards. Other than that they gave him very easy throws to make. If that one play doesn't hit then, to me, his performance is almost a carbon copy of Emory's performance against Clemson in 2023.
