While I agree with you on bowls, they aren't gone yet. If you start the season with the possibility of playing in a bowl game, then finish it by playing in a bowl game.

Iowa State and Kansas State just bailed on their bowl games, too. Blamed it on their coaching changes.

FSU may get a bowl invite now as they scrape the bottom of the barrel looking for replacements.

That's fair, too. I don't even disagree with you.

But at some point, teams are going to start saying no to these things en masse to get to that end result. These are a school commitments and obligations not really one of the players and coaches...the real stakeholders.

Here we are, I guess.

The bowl season is about to get destroyed with opt outs. College football is over. It’s playoff or just. Just got to 16 and the treat of the teams can head to their off season.

That’s 3 teams declining bowls. What a disaster for all of the sponsors, cities and young kids who would love to play in them.

Greed has ruined the sport for good.

I don't think people realize we're literally watching the death of the sport as we've known it

As much as I love piling on the Domers, I think this stuff will become more commonplace as we move forward. Cannot have a playoff and a second tier bowl system and players being allowed to opt out and think it will all co-exist.

I would have been just fine if Miami did the same thing.

These bowl games are not worth the time, money, and effort to prepare for. Teams are going into those things with a skeleton crew. Players looking elsewhere. Players getting ready for the NFL or whatever they are doing next. Coaches looking for their next, especially the assistants. Its an absolute ****show at this point.

We will see the end of these bowl games soon. The players are hundred-thousandaires and millionaires now...they don't want or need the swag bag of branded trash to play in a game no one will watch or attend.

Bowl Season is over. Its a rotting carcass at this point.
