Notre Dame On-Field Breakdown Thread

My cousin is an ND fan, these are their injuries on D

Best two DTs
Lb captain
Best safety
Corner that will be drafted

This is correct. Breuw is rumored to be hurt badly, he's listed questionable but I think he might be on the wrong side of that. *IF* he doesn't play, that is their best DT, their best LB/senior captain/green dot is out, their best Safety is out, their 2nd best corner/5th year senior/30+ game starter NFL pick is also out.

I think preseason if you asked me who their 6 best defensive players were, 4 of them are potentially out. Traore and Moore are the only 2 who remain, and Moore didn't play last week (I fully expect him to this week).

More snaps into their season. Latest thing to stand out:

These ******** are going to target their RBs at least 6-8 times in our game.

I’ve watched them motion their RB into the flats as a setup. We’re getting hit with it.

Pretty subtle approach with their Hback and RBs in short motions to give Carr a clear picture.

Our disguises better be completely new.

Just as Cortes scuttled his boats so his men wouldn't think about heading back from Mexico, I suggest that Mario leave punters home. Just tell Dawson to plan on scoring on every possession. You have 4 downs to use on each set of downs.

Gotta be efficient on 1st & 2nd downs.

Their D seems pretty banged up. How many of these are starters??
Bowen is the green dot and a starter. Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa is the most talented LBer. He got hurt against BYU and didnt play much, sat out against Navy. KVA and Sneed are the most talented Lbers but Bowen is smart and plays for a reason. I'm not sure what kind of impact this has on the game.

Moore was out last week but he is fine and only sat b/c it was Navy. Mckinney is a starter and a good player. Jayden Sanders will take his spot and he's good - a starter on most teams.

Braunte Johnson is talented and a big loss. Luke Talich has stepped in and played for him and he's played out of his mind. If Johnson was healthy, I think Talich would start alongside him and Schuler, the other starter right now, would be the odd man out.

There's no clear cut starter at DT, but Brewu and Onye split reps with Gray and Mukam. I think Brewu is one of the best of the four, and Onye is the weakest of the four. They'll rotate Elijah Hughes with Gray and Mukam - he has experience and probably not a huge drop off from Onye.

Assuming Moore plays, and I think he will, the cumulative impact of the injuries is probably a bigger issue than any one player listed above.
