Notre Dame AD: ACC did “permanent damage”

So he thinks threatening to take away the other sports that they are actually in the ACC is going to scare them?

Oh no we won’t have the ND basketball team anymore, how will the conference survive?

What a loser!

2003 FSU: *throws fit hissy fit after being left out of CFP*

2025 Notre Dame: hold my beer

It's insane because everyone knew how that worked out for Florida State. They had EVERYONE in their corner until they started acting like absolute children and then EVERYBODY hated them. The next season they went 2-10. Notre Dame had an opportunity to use that sympathy to their advantage but their so f***ing entitled they pulled an FSU.

And they don't want to join a conference. So what leverage do they actually have? Why does anyone care? They are a single team, in a sea of 135 teams, that continues to choose to act alone, in spite of people telling them the pitfalls. And then when those bad things happen they act completely shocked. What are they gonna do, go form their own league? They have ZERO leverage because they've worked so hard to isolate themselves.

Are these Mofos that obtuse or are they just this freaking arrogant?

So they EXPECTED the ACC to choose them over us (which the Commissioner tried to do and our own AD to a lesser extent)…

If it wasn’t for Mario and other national pundits, it might’ve work…

Just like @Lance Roffers said, phuggggg you…

ND needs the ACC as much as the ACC needs ND in the current state. The ACC agreement fills their schedule. Without that agreement, ND will have a hard time filling their season with P4 teams. It will be a bunch of G5 and USC plus one more if they backed out of it and went totally independent.

I mean seriously. At least FSU had a legit argument of being undefeated. ND has no leg to stand on. "We LOOK better when playing 3 win teams even though we couldn't beat the best teams we played." Hopefully they will have a similar meltdown the next two years.

UCF had that same argument in 2017 and that's why we have G5s in there now.

I personally have zero issues with G5 bids...with the condition that they're ranked in the top 15. Can't put teams in the 20s or lower in the playoff. Same reason Duke was out. This still doesn't solve the subjectivity component. Only way to truly remove the controversy is to make all spots auto bids.

Sorry but too much attention is being given to this LSU feeder school stepping stone program.

We have no business playing them next year. Neither does any other ACC team. Its time to end this relationship.

And USC doesn’t even want to play them past September anymore. *Maybe* the Big 12 would reach some kind of scheduling agreement but do we really see ND lowering themselves to playing in Manhattan KS in November?

I’d love to see ND just move on from Acc .. the football schedule would be usc Stanford .. navy .. army Air Force ..etc

I did not know that. I assumed that was the one historical rival that was safe.
