Notes from 8/15 Practice

I don't know if anyone watched the LB drill video, but DO does not appear to be moving well at all. That's very disappointing. I know it hasn't been a year since the injury and it's always the second year after that a player normally returns to full health, but that video didn't look promising for the next 3 months
Thanks for the short video diagnosis. When do you expect him to be able to contribute based on that 10 second observation?

It was just an observation and an opinion. You don't have to agree. I don't know what it means about when he will be able to contribute, im not the guys who get a big fat check to make those calls. All i said was that he was not moving well. I also admitted that it's been less than a year since his injury and most players who have knee injuries don't fully recover until 2 years after. So his tepidness is somewhat expected.

Who knows what is going to happen, but based on the reports by writers on all sites, the video's that have been made public, and what i just saw there i am not sure he will be able to contribute much this year. Which is disappointing because we are very thin at the LB spot.
I disagree... may take him a minute 2 warm up..and he has a bit of a block mentally that he is overcoming but he is ready..he is cleared by the doc..coaches are taking it slow with him..he participate in the backs/TE cover drills and he is doing rather well in those drills

He wouldn't be out there participating full go if they thought he was less than 100% recovered from the surgery. It's all mental at this point.
Yeap...and he knows it...He said when he first goes out he baby the knee ...but once he gets involved in a drill he forgets that it was injured...but every now and then he does a cut...and i scares him but he realizes that its fine...He thinks once they start allowing him more reps he will be able to forget about it completely...He is chomping at the bit for some contact...in the staff defense...i would be a bit hesitant also...Camp has been tough...no serious injuries...Pinkney Ham is a little sore..only with certain movements...Shaq get the stitches out of his hand tomorrow...hasn't missed any practice but he says it hurts a bit when he grabs cloth...he has had his hand tape so he can't grab with it ..that has helped in the healing...he is fine...and a few bumps and bruises that come along with the game with the other backers....but they are all extremely excited to get this thing started...if the first game was tomorrow all the backers would be ready to go

He is ready to go... but no one knows anything about the investigation findings... The players are all in the dark on that subject matter... and IF ... Shaq was told not to discuss the matter, he wouldn't not even with me... nor would I want him to.

Good news considering the consecutive days of practice to start off. So glad we actually hit in practice to. Them old days of practice were to soft. Richt and Co. Working the bodies and the mental aspect of the game.

Thank you for that. Appreciate the feedback and the insight.

These linebackers are working hard and working through injuries. That being said. I think the one guy that is doing a great job and getting no respect is Gordinier. Again, not from Florida and doesn't look like a typical Miami LB but nobody is more versatile in the group. They made a very smart move to have him learn the WILL. Long. And more athletic than people want to think. I think it's great that he is under the radar because
He doesn't back down and is as tough as they come.
