Of course hope that Lucas is as advertised as a recruiter, but no way he's finding a dozen guys better than Bethea. I would not be so flippant in suggesting he go elsewhere.

I was wondering how many people saw it that way. Bethea leaving is no small shot to this team moving forward. Anyone thinking otherwise isn't paying attention. Meanwhile we reach out to people named Honor Huff or whatever the **** it is and shrug off five star top 10 recruits like it's not a thing.

He so clearly needed time to develop but you guys writing him off expected a day 1 starter because of his star ranking. He’ll go to Bama, get his body right, and we’ll all be ****ed off when he’s hitting big shots in the tournament for them.

Very well could. But Bethea needed (still needs) to fill out his body. Timberlake was 6’5 and had a broken jumper. Those are two vastly different trajectories in terms of when you can decide who they are as players.

Its certainly possible. Unlike Jalil, Timberlake was far too old for every level he played at, which matters a lot.

That said, the amount of times I watched Bethea's water get completely shut off by average a** defenders was alarming. Basically every one of his possessions was the same; try 14 different dribble moves without ever coming close to getting by the defender, then give up and jack a bad long 2. Maybe he improves dramatically, but at this point I'm just glad he's someone else's problem.

Timberlake found his level at Bryant. He was an excellent player for them and helped them get into the NCAA Tournament this year

I'd prefer to have as much talent at Miami as possible, and then let the coaches coach. I'm not writing off anyone for one year in which the head coach retired a month into the season.

I've been told that Jai is a great recruiter and that we have a ton of money. But I'm from Missouri. Show me.

Thus far, I don't think we've won a single battle to retain any of our freshmen or HS signees, and those SHOULD HAVE been the easiest ones to convince.

If Bethea played in HS his Senior year like he played for us this year he wouldn't have been ranked top 250. Frankly I was disappointed in his play and effort this year
