Not so fast my friend, we still need help

IMO, there should be at least two ACC teams in. The champ and the next best. If Miami wins out, regardless of if includes the ACCCG, they should be in. A 10-2 Miami team that flirted with the top 5, has two close losses on paper, and has quality win should be in. It's stupid that this is even a question

However, the elephant that no one is talking about, is the obvious bias towards SEC and B10 schools. The landscape has switched in recent years with efforts to make the B10 as the companion powerhouse to the SEC.

The 12 team playoff is just an underlying effort to shill this, force viewership and revenue towards those two conferences, and water down the rest of the P4. The B12 has become an afterthought and the ACC is quickly next, hence ONLY the projected champ gets in.
Good to know you think 2 ACC teams should get in. That should be enough to sway the committee

Okay.... so it's that time of year again when I ask y'all to bet me but y'all be too scared... which in turn, saves me money so thank you guys.

Anyway, who wants to bet $25-$50 that if we win our next two games, we're in????

The problem with this bet is that it is unwinnable. Nobody can prove that if we win our next two, we are in SOLELY for that reason. We still need help, for definitive reasons. The CFP Committee cannot be trusted to "do the right thing", and it is highly unlikely (statistically) that we make the ACC-CG.

Root for Alabama, Oklahoma, BYU, Utah, and Notre Dame to lose. "Miami beating VaTech and Pitt" is NOT our salvation.

If GT beats uga and loses the ACC game there will be two ACC teams but we won’t be one of them lol

There is so much outside our control right now. Just focus on winning and keep saying Miami should be in but we don’t control our destiny right now

I think that's an incomplete bet, because it depends on who, if anyone, loses.

We can go 2-0 and get in, if teams lose. Or we could go 2-0 and not get in, if teams don't.

Let's do it this way:

Miami does go 2-0, and I'll even say wins both games convincingly. VT by 21, and Pitt by double-digits.

Who is Miami jumping to get to #10? That's where we have to get to.

Oregon is 7
OU is 8
ND is 9
Bama is 10

Miami goes 2-0, but all 4 of those teams do as well. Who is Miami pushing out to get into the top 10?
You know what, I had to delete my original response to this because what you're saying is making too much sense. My lil holiday bonus check from work kicked in this week and it had me acting a lil different. Might be my first time I back out of a bet lol

My understanding is that you can’t penalize a team for making it and playing a 13th game

There are exceptions but that’s what i thought i heard

That is wrong.

There is a re-rank after the championship games. A team may not slide "five spots" for losing a championship game, but they could slide one spot.

That's why we need to be right behind BYU when they lose to Texas Tech.

True. In a sense. I wasn't really caring about any reasons. I just felt like if we win our next 2, we're gonna be in. Any other logical outcomes didn't matter to me.

But I'll stop with the nonsense because like I said, I haven't done any research on anything. Appreciate you guys saving me money 😂

My current outlook on the situation is, we win out and we'll jump Utah and BYU purely off of resume comparison. I could easily see Bama jumping ND with a big win over Auburn. That would have ND at 10 and Miami at 11 which would then bring in the head to head. We'd be the last at large bid in over the g5 rep and the acc champ, that is, unless we Houdini ourselves into the ACCCG somehow.

Chip on Cover 3 made a good point.

Absolutely no one outside of our fanbase believes Miami can actually go to Pitt in November and win, based on historical precedent. Zero point zero. Everyone and their mother is already writing that loss in ink.

So, if we win out and that includes beating what could be a ranked Pitt on the road in November to FINALLY close out a season, that should greatly help the perception problem we have and get us in.

I tend to agree with this point based on last night.

We all know being in the ACC does nothing but hurt us if we don't win it. Let's not be surprised by this. ACC is the least respected conference of the power 4 and not even making it to the title game is going to be a big negative to overcome. Hopefully we can this time and Mario learns not to **** around and put teams away by as many points as possible these next 2 weeks and beyond.

Why would the committee care if the public thinks they are a clown show? You are assuming the members are capable of feeling shame.
Public shaming can be a *****. It wasn’t long ago that our athletic department, president and board of trustees couldn’t be bothered with reviving the Miami football program. The. They got embarrassed in front of millions of people. Then, all of the sudden everything got important here.

Miami is 5-1 at Pitt since 2010. What historical precedent says otherwise?

One can make an argument for the Big 12 as being least-respected. Right now, they have THREE teams ranked ahead of the ACC's highest-ranked team (Miami) and yet are likely to only get 1 bid.
