Not so fast my friend, we still need help

The committee is just human votes. Whether they admit it or not, they are influenced by outside sources. If Miami continues to win out, the already loud discussion about good wins vs good losses will continue to get louder and influence the rankings more.

Where people get it wrong is that the CFP is not a mathematical equation. There’s no formula where wins, strength of schedule and various other statistics are thrown in and teams get a numerical score. It’s literally just people writing a list of their opinions. It’s all politics. The goal is to sway opinion not score hypothetical points in a numerical algorithm. The more people talk about what’s going on with Miami getting punished for losses but not rewarded for wins (and it’s not just Miami fans making this point), the more likely the committee is to bumping the Hurricanes up a spot or two. If public pressure makes at least some of the committee members uncomfortable with their rankings, things will change.
I doubt the college football public is going to come to the defense of Miami.

Have you not been paying attention to any national media at all the last week or two? Miami being ranked behind Notre Dame despite beating them head to head might be the biggest topic in college football right now.
Feels like it is about to switch to how can ND be ranked ahead of Alabama…it’s nuts

ESPN puts us in for now in the playoff because we are still eligible for the ACC championship and we are the highest ranked ACC team. Hoever, who ever wins the acc championship will take that spot. If we win out and we dont creep close enought to ND we are still not in. So we need byu, alabama, oklahoma, or utah to lose enough for us to get close to ND and take their spot
It's been mentioned multiple times, but the best way we can help ourselves is by beating VT and Pitt.

They're bizarrely being chalked up as wins. It's like nobody has watched Miami play these last 20 years.

Win those two and let the chips fall where they may.

False, if we win out, we are in. They’re not gonna have a team in that we beat and not us! Those are facts. We win out and we will be in the playoff.

The only way we get in is if things happen in front of us or in conference allowing Miami to win conference. Winning out isn’t enough.
I believe things will happen in front of us. Big 12 is only getting one team in and that’s Texas Tech. Also, Bama has to play at Auburn.

Be assured... half the country hates ND, the other half hates us.

Obviously. It's baffling how this is even remotely confusing to anyone. Miami could literally win the next 2 games 100-0 and we're not getting in unless teams above us lose, most importantly either OU or Bama. BYU to Cincy on Saturday helps as well.

But if Bama goes 2-0, OU goes 2-0, Oregon goes 2-0, Utah goes 2-0, BYU goes 2-1 (loss to Texas Tech in Big 12 championship game), Miami is out. Again, I don't care if we put 11 kids from VT and Pitt into the hospital and set a national scoring record. We need help. It's mind-blowing that this even needs to be said.

What I'm saying is... we don't need to be in th ACC title game. I figured as long as we finish at least #8 in the final rankings, we'll be in. ESPN says we need to be #10.

More teams ranked ahead of us will lose in the next two weeks. And also the losers of the conference games(whoever are ranked ahead of us) will fall behind us as well( as long as we win our next 2).

So if the top 4 spots goes to the conference champs. And then the other spot goes to the highest ranked outside the P4. That leaves 7 spots left right?

Btw I have done absolutely ZERO research on this lol. I just saw the rankings quickly and came up with my own conclusion within 5mins. Take it easy on me.
Losers in Big 10 & SEC titles games aren’t dropping below us. They’re in regardless.

Trying to imagine a world in which we don't lose to Pitt by 10........

Playoffs or not: I want nothing but chaos and controversy and disgruntled fanbases across America *****ing and moaning about the system as a whole.

The "playoffs" in college football is, by far, the biggest farce in all of professional sports.

The story right now is “why is Notre Dame ahead of Miami when Miami won head to head?”. It’s got nothing to do with who half the country hates. But on that note, most of the country doesn’t care about Miami. We’ve been irrelevant for 20 years.

Its also mind blowing the leaps made to keep us out and implicitly have other teams in ahead of us.

Specifically BYU Utah and ND.

No one can make an argument they "deserve" to be in ahead of us if were talking actual schedules, games played and games won.

I think people are seriously underestimating us getting in at 10-2. The committee is putting off a head to head because they’re praying one of us lossses. CFB media already pivoting in our favor and calling out the farce of putting ND ahead. Also 10-2 Utah or 10-2 BYU are not getting in over us.

Same here. Your prediction makes me feel good so obviously you're a genius and will be correct.
